Watching And Looking

Last night I posted a picture of Maisie and Big Moose clocking in for guard sheep duty and wondered "aloud" how long that had been going on.  On the blog I'd just click on a label for either Maisie or Big Moose and be able to quickly scroll back.  On Instagram...it's all there, but you have to scroll back and back and back and back and back to find it.  I've made 5,695 posts :-o.

It started the night before Hank died. I took this picture as I was sitting out on the hill with him for what I think we both knew was the last time.  They were looking over at him...or me...or maybe already the far hill.

5,695 memories.  Some heartbreakingly sad...but grateful for every one.

I’m grateful as well for what You share with us all. RIP Hank and all the wooly friends you’ve lost.

Maisie has backup :0)
If people who have passed can look after people still here, I think dogs can too.

It's probably a little of all those things...

Animals 'know' so much more than we do (really). I'm sure Hank has a 'talk' with all his flock. He told each one goodbye and asked for a couple to volunteer to step up and take his physical place. Now I am sure he comes back to visit with them and they let him know how things are going.

I'm sure I see my beagle out the corner of my eye, or sometimes feel Fuzzy lay down beside me. My Sam-Sam and Monkey are close by. If it is true of these, it is true for Hank and all his flock.

Hugs to you Sara. Hugs.

Hank was the best ever! I’m sure they all miss him. The new guard are doing a good job too. Animals are smarter than people in my book.

Wow. I think Hank set it up. Knowing Maisie you KNOW it's not a random friendship - there's a purpose there. Good to know they've get each other's back.
