Well This, Then...
...and then this happened 12 hours later :-o.
Lamb or freak April snow...tough call ;-). Lamb first; snow post tomorrow!
You know who she is :-). I named her Ellie :-). Here is a bit more of her story:
She and her mom, Short Round, are hanging out in Easy Breezy and after only a little bit of eye rolling from Cheeto and B. Willard, everyone is quite happy...especially me :-).
Sound asleep on her bunk bed last night. Here's a bit more of the night check:

Do These Ears Look Familiar?
They might not if you weren't following Lamb Camp on Instagram/Facebook.
This ought to help identify him ;-).
We kindly referred to him as "Big Moose" and his eyes and ears stay perpetually "bugged out" even when he's just goofing around.
What about this handsome boy?

It's Mini Moose :-D.
You've seen this ewe before as well. She's become one of my all time favorites. And she's Big Moose's mom :-D.
The ewes and lambs were going "through the chutes" at Final Frontier Farm yesterday getting dewormed and their feet trimmed if they needed it. I ran over see everyone and take some pictures. I even caught the two Mooses and picked them up.
If anyone is contemplating a starter flock - commercial, wool or dual purpose - there are some great choices over there this year. Shoot me an email and I'll give you Kathy's contact information.
No need asking. The two Mooses are already sold ;-).

Okay, I'd been struggling to write a coherent post about this quote and why I blog...and the internet crashed and nothing got saved. I'm going to take that as divine intervention and not try to recreate it because I'm pretty sure it didn't really make sense the first time and I doubt the second would be any better.
I don't want the blog to go dark again, so until I have the words...I'll give you pictures. That hopefully nurture your soul.

Sneaking In
I just got home from picking up goat milk. I very, very quietly snuck in the front door so as not to let someone know I was home...and hearing all quiet, have now snuck into the office and onto the computer to quickly introduce...
"Hi! My name is Biscuit!"
"I'm the new lamb here. Kate says you all knew it was gonna happen."
"I'm doing really well. I'm super cute and a good baby to boot. I like to go out in the yard and play in the lavender garden. My mom took a bunch of pictures of me there yesterday and says she'll get them posted as quickly as she can, but 'baby before blogging'. I agree!"
"It was really hot the last two few days, so we took lots of naps in front of a fan. Today is cooler so we are both happier and feel more like bouncing around."
"I'm one of the triplets from the other day, but not the little girl that everyone thought would be chosen. As soon as my new mom picked me up, I fell asleep in her arms. She said that pretty well decided it, but when I played around in front of her and then curled up on her feet, that iced it."
I'll keep posting pictures and hopefully short videos on Instagram. They in turn auto-post to the Punkin's Patch Facebook page and Twitter, so if I have trouble sneaking off to update the blog, you can check there for updates.

The Baby Daddies
Two posts in one day :-o. Hey, I DO have a picture of the rams! This was taken just after Christmas. I'll take some better pictures the next nice day. This was just a quick snap. I thought it was "cute" how they were all sleeping next to each other. Once breeding season's over, they all go back to being friends :-).
Jared (left back), H. Mulligan (white North Country Cheviot) and Rocky (right).
Jared and Rocky came in from Nistock Farms last summer. I'm not sure we have any Jared sheep on our farm, but if you look at Rocky, you can guess who at least one favorite son is :-). We also have a couple Rocky grandsons, Andy and Levi. Rocky's son Rocket was "the wool ram" at Final Frontier Farm the past two years. Kentucky is turning into Nistock South!
Here's a (sort of) better shot of Jared, earlier in December, right after the fall breeding season ended. There will be a some more "wool" babies coming this spring and some North Country lambs as well. While the curly coloreds are "fancier", I thoroughly enjoy spinning Cheviot fleeces, too. In fact, PPPP's medium length, medium crimp "down type" Border Cheviot fleece is one of my favorite fleeces to spin and also what I like to sell to beginning spinners.
The out of season (summer) test breeding produced 11 lambs - three white, one gray and seven blacks. We are not sure what we'll do with that first lamb shear next fall. It's sure to be quite nice so we may offer raw fleeces...or we may do a yarn run. Spinners and knitters stay tuned! Which would you prefer?

Meanwhile Back At Snowy Lamb Camp
A few shots from the other day. Those lambies are growing up Too Fast!

This is that lighter "black" ewe lamb. She's definitely turning gray (with a brown button nose!) and her fleece is already a favorite.
With her much blacker brother. It would be hard to be much cuter, eh?
The first ewe lamb - Miss Maybelline.
The last set of twins born just before Christmas. Both boys, but both beautiful black fleeces.
This is not the white ewe lamb triplet that goes with the two boys. It's teeny tiny Peter (he got a special name because he's so stinkin' cute ;-) on his first day out with the big kids. Everyone took good care of him.

It's a cute baby lamb thing, Peter, and since you are the cutest baby lamb, the paparazzi just won't leave you alone :-).

On The Fourth Day Of Christmas...

Too bad I didn't check my camera settings quicker. I was just so excited to see a teefer moment that I snapped first and checked second.
