As The Sun Sets In The Yukon

"Could you stop knitting and feed us?"

I am not going to reach my goal of 20 rows today.  I'm not even getting close.  Another rookie mistake.  The number of stitches increases on every row.  Each two row pair adds six stitches to the count.  They are adding up fast and I didn't take that into consideration this morning.

I still should be able to get through the first repeat of the lace body tonight.  That's two days for the first repeat and maybe two and a half days for the second?  I think two repeats should balance out well.  Then, the third section, which is less rows, but they are really long rows...maybe two days?  That puts me at the bind off on Monday, maybe Tuesday...if all goes well.  Hopefully the Red Lantern will still be burning.

That's precisely why you have your own red lantern. May your light go out before theirs does. ( I hope you have extra batteries just in case ;-) )
Stay calm and knit on!

I'm trying to get my head around your knitting marathon. Are you sponsoring the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race which I arrived at when I clicked your Red Lantern Link? Just askin' ... And is that little/r sheep in the photo Burrnie? If so, he seems to be part of the close- knit (!) family already! Greetings, Jo, East Africa

I am a very minor sponsor for Karen Ramstead, but love a lot of the mushers. She's a friend of a good friend and I've gotten completely hooked on sled dogs because of her and what a nice job she does. I encourage you to scroll back through her blog if you are interested. http://northwapiti.blogspot.com/ Her Border Collie is hysterical.

As far as the knitting part, they started the Iknitarod five year ago, but I just learned about it last year. It's a small fun group and lots of folks actually up there while the race is going on. Just for fun :-).

And yes, that's little Burrnie :-). Shearing here next week. Can't wait to see him without all the burrs!
