Trashing The Joint

Pretty much only the vacuum came from the wash room renovation project. Everything else? Stash from the attic.

Oh, and some boxes.

I keep boxes.

That I never use.

They take up a lot of space.

But I might need one sometime.

But I haven't used but maybe one.

Ever watched any of those hoarding shows?

Yep, they'll scare you straight!

S0, once I tear down the boxes and send them to the recycle center, I'm going to go through all the bags of miscellaneous stash. There is some lovely but lonely fiber there looking for some love - several small bags of alpaca - various colors, samples from workshops that I've taken that I really should spin...but if I haven't yet... Some roving I don't recognize/remember, but looks nice. You get the idea.

Anyone interested in a spring cleaning giveaway?

Because, ready or not (since our sheep are nekkid, I can no longer wish for more snow :-/), spring is right around the corner.

There are folks who volunteer to demonstrate spinning, weaving, knitting at reenactment of events of long ago. I would bet that they would love to have some of your stash to use with students. Art teachers like fiber as well.
You sure have a lot of energy!! That Wool House will look super when you're done.

I keep boxes too and I am thinking of getting all of them tomorrow and throwing them out! I dont’ use them and don’t need to keep them. What a clean out you are doing--good for you. I sure hope we don’t get anymore snow either :)

We have too many boxes too! You must really be in that spring cleaning mode.

Hard to believe your new building has already amassed that much stuff. Looks just like my house--which took me years to acheive! You've really outdone yourself trying to make it all homey on my account LOL.

Yes! We're ready for a "spring cleaning giveaway". Any of the above mentioned stash would be a very honorable and worthy gift for someone. Think how good you will feel knowing that someone else will be enjoying your fiber. Yea!!

My name is Pam and I'm a box hoarder. You NEVER know when you'll need to mail something. I occasionally come to my senses and recycle my boxes. Two days later, I'm at Walmart buying a box because I need to mail something. Grrrrr...

Yes, there's not much that's more frustrating than not having the right box for shipping! (except knowing that you "had" the right box, but just got rid of it! lol)

Yes, I have watched the hoarding shows just to keep myself in line. After watching a few of them I am ready to gather a big trash of junk and toss it.

I have a "little" problem with collecting boxes. Other family members may disagree with my choice of the word "little".

Hah! I must be in denial, still. See how I used the word "collecting" instead of "hoarding" boxes? LOL!

I must be in box denial as well because I call that recycling! :)

I'm laughing. The box thing seems to be universal. A few years ago we did some remodeling and had a dumpster. I decided to put the dumpster to good use and toss boxes that had been taking up too much space in the attic. We kept boxes from every large item we bought...just in case we ever had to take it back.
The pile at the bottom of the attic stairs was easily 5 feet tall and spread out about 10 feet!

Okay, so I'm unpacking some new dishes in the house and am tempted to save two of the boxes... Send help!

Feels so good to get rid of stuff, doesn't it? I've been doing that a lot lately, too.

but having yarn is not hoarding...

its called "collecting" and a group is called a collection...really.

but good thing you have a "home" for all your boxes to go to...

okay fine, so I have a box hoarding problem too...im sure theres a "box lady anonymous" somewhere we can all go to...

I have the exact same habit of saving boxes! I do alot of trades with fellow fibre folks and like to keep some on hand. I luv the sheepjes in your window :-)
You asked about how hot is the water I used for washing my Cormo. I use boiling water for the white and part boiling/hot water for the CormoX.

all you lovely people with the boxes, send them to me. I've got some packing to do soon..I hope.
After reading this, I'm ready to go dig into some closets and finish what I started over Christmas break...cleaning out. Already took two trunk loads to Goodwill and havn't finished yet! And speaking of Spring, we're driving past an almond grove in CA that's in bloom. Do you have any idea how good this smells?

Maybe when all of you get through with yur own spring cleaning, you'll come out here and do mine? You wouldn't believe how much stuff still clings to me after several moves. Some still in those boxes! And I can't get rid of small boxes, because Emma the Calico Queen likes to sleep in them!
