How Many Sheep Does It Take To Knit A Sweater?

Baaxter's pretty sure he knows the answer to that question.

You know that old joke...

...where the punch line is "I didn't even know sheep could knit!"

They can't.

Well, we had snow yesterday and today it all melted and warmed up enough that I could knit outside this afternoon.  Baaxter "helped".  I'm ready to start the collar tomorrow, which means the end is in sight.  It's been a fun, easy knit and so many friends are knitting Carbeth sweaters that it's felt like a virtual knitting party :-).

Baaxter is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to model the Carbeth. Sheep can definitely model, especially Baaxter!

You have an ever increasing number of "helpers". How nice to have such a pleasant and warm day to knit outside.

I love that big nose with the needle in his teeth. (Although, yikes, hard on needles!) . Can't wait to see it done!

Nothing like advice from the very source of Wool itself! I looked at the sweater on line. It’s adorable!

I loved the story and photos. Baaxter is a very handsome boy with beautiful wool.

Hi! I’m a bigger knitter. I can do scarves and I’m just about done with my second cowl. I’m working up to a garment, either a shell or sweater. Are you knitting your sweater in the round? The two cowls that I have done were in the round. I love that I didn’t have to sew up any seams.

Graffiti?! Cute. Maybe he just was his fleece back? ;-)

Yes, it's knit in the round. It would be a great first sweater for you! Very straightforward and Kate Davies patterns are always well written and designed :-).

The needles continued to knit fine so the teeth marks can stay as they are. I have a needle cable that Liddy chewed on that I've sanded down to make it as smooth as possible and enjoy remembering knitting with her as a baby every time I use it :-).
