Everyone's Flying The Coop...Or Nest

"What do you think?"

"Looks pretty far down there."

"You go first."

"No, YOU go first!"

"Ain't nobody going nowhere just yet, so y'all just pipe it back down."

They are close though!  This is the first year we've had barn swallows.  I have to say, between the martins, the bats and the swallows, we are pretty happy with our (lack of) bug situation and they are all fun to watch as well :-).

After a couple years of failed clutches, our barn swallows didn't return this year. :-( We do have violet-green swallows, though.

Barn swallows are my very favorite! These are beautiful pictures! When I walk into my barn, about 25 barn swallows start dive bombing me. They are practicing in case I let the cats out, which I won't until the barn swallows fly south in the fall. You are to be commended on your great pictures, and I hope Hank guards them from your cats!

I love your bird narration. I would be happy with the birds and the lack of bugs, but I am really not so sure about the bats

I had two dead birds in my barn over the last two days. Looking at your photos, I think they may have been barn swallows. Awwww.

Had these on our farm, so sweet, also had bats. You are so right, they really help with the insect control.

Did you work on the new Disney movie (name escapes me)? Love the dialogue, you always brighten my days and of course all the critters!

I love watching and listening to the Swallows. Ours are close to hatching now. As for the bugs...not many, many at all!
