Gift Wrapped

Our Redbuds are so beautiful this year. Well, they are so beautiful every year, but maybe a touch more this year. They've had plenty of rain and plenty of warm sunshine.

The trees nearest the Wool House end up collecting bits of stray wool that blows off the porch as I'm skirting fleeces. Looks like a fancy gift topper, wrapped around these colorful blooms.

Look how this one is grabbing the flower with her front legs. And yes, she's a she. Worker bees are females. As in any bee you see out working is a female ;-). The yellow on her back legs is pollen.

I took these while I was skirting some fleeces parked in the shade of this tree. The same tree Iris and Miss Ewenice were sitting under a couple days ago. It's a favorite with everyone - two, four, or six legged.

The tree was full of bees of all sorts, shapes and sizes. Sometimes one would accidentally fly into me, but I never got stung. Bees out working have better things to do than sting you, so don't be afraid to get a closer look.

Took a short video, forgot to turn the sound on, was a little bummed, found a pretty song to play in the background and ended up liking it better than if I'd tried to record all the buzzing.

A pretty gift, wrapped.

Enjoy!

Wow, says she who slide down the hill in the snow this morning! Wish I knew how to turn the sound OFF in my camera's video function....

Beautiful Sara. Someday you have to tell me how to add text and special sound to a movie.

Spectacular photos as always, Sara (lovely video, too). We are so lucky to live on farms, the beautiful things there are to watch, especially in spring!

Great Photos.

I tried to take video the other day of the lambs racing up and down the ditch bank. Came in to watch it and all I got was a black screen with a green line that went up and down like some piece of medical equipment you would find in a hospital ......... every time mama's went BAAAAAAAAAAA

Love the bees video. I love watching bees work. Do you have hives or are these wild bees?

I loved seeing your redbuds! I have two very small native redbuds and they grow soooooo slowly. I just drooled over yours!

I'm using Windows Movie Maker - came with my computer. Pretty intuitive.

Yes, we have honey bees, but there were wild bees of all varieties out. I love the wild bees as much as our "tame".

I'm pretty sure there is a setting on your camera to turn the sound off - might find it in the manual ;-D.

There's a joke there about the "workers" only being females, but I'll leave that one alone. lol

Beautiful blooms! I’ve watched the video quite a few times. What is the title of the music in the background?
