Nekkid vs. Naked

"‘Naked’ means you got no clothes on. ‘Nekkid’ means you got no clothes and you’re up to somethin'.’” Iris' aunt Debbie.

Keebler? Naked. Graham Lamb? Nekkid.

I've been so sick that I've not been up to anything for several days. The shearer was here Sunday. I took no pictures. No incriminating videos. I even had some Sunday Stills pictures taken earlier in the week and didn't post them. That's pretty sick, eh? Hopefully I'm on the mend. The weather's beautiful and I have too much to do.

Ewen McTeagle and Petunia. Look at how much lighter she is this year. Her fleece looks like oatmeal with a hint of cinnamon.

No, Henrietta isn't pregnant. This is short, cute, fat Henri from the clock ;-).

Crazy Esther, surrounded by her buds Peabody, Clover Belly, Boudreaux, Popcorn PeePee Pants and Rebecca Boone.

I noticed some "pinking" starting to show (yes, sheep will sunburn!), so I made everyone go back inside. Those are some not so happy faces staring out onto the rapidly greening grass.

Twenty-five bags of wool. I decided I'd shear Miss Ewenice myself so she didn't have to be turned over. Maybe this weekend.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to help!!! Martin, John and Reg, Pat, Stella and Saint Tim. And, of course, the sheep. Everyone appreciates you as well, nekkid or naked.

I do hope you are on the mend! The "pinto" sheep, do you separate the colors of their fleece, or spin the yarn with both together?

Sorry to hear you've been illness - obviously REALLY ill, judging from your lack of camera-wielding and Sunday Stills posting! All that's left here to shear is old Inky, for the same reason as Miss Ewenice. Now I must go out into the sunshine and skirt some fleeces....

The sheep don't look to be any the worse for wear even wearing nothin'. I hope that your health turns around soon and that you are none the worse for wear as well.

Those bags of wool look mighty full! Can't wait to see what it will look like after it is washed and processed.

I am sorry to hear that you were feeling so poorly! You must have really been miserable. And then to have shearing on top of it?! Ouch.

I hope this finds you MUCH better and that you're able to get out and enjoy your beautiful place and animals.`

The pinto sheep are Jacobs and that's one of the things that makes them fun. You can separate out the two colors and then mix them together as you wish to get any color of white to silver to charcoal to black.

The sheep all look great - I always think they are much more comfortable once all that wool is gone....

I hope your on the mend and feeling yourself again soon :) c

I'm so sick I've got tissues stuck up my nose to stop the flooding.

Every time I look out at the pasture I think I see a brown dog, only it's Blanche with her new pixie hair cut.

Sorry to hear you've been sick. This is no time of the year for that stuff! Too much to do. I hope you are on the mend. Shearing got postponed here Saturday due to snow/ice/rain blah blah. :-0 Not bitter though.

The sheep look terrific!

Bummer!Hope you are much improved. Violet had a bad cold, too, but she's fine. I'm with Kathy all day today setting up lambing pens and moving all my fat pets back over here so they will be out of the way.Babies soon!

I love seeing the sheep without all their wool. They just look so much cooler.

I like to shear (oops) shave Fuzzy in the spring too. His fur is more like wool with long fluffy strands of hair in it. He is always much cooler after his yearly hair cut.

Hope you are doing better, being sick is not fun with farm work to do.

There is no way to call in and take a sick day.

I'm glad you are doing Miss Ewenice yourself. From experience I am glad.

Ever notice how we both are vegetarians working at home on our farms, only I almost never get sick and you always do? I tell you, it's all that freakin' SNOW lowering your resistance! You definitely need a another dose of Texas to get over this LOL!

Sorry to hear you are sick, and hope you feel better soon!!!

Hope you are feeling better now.
My first thought when I saw Henrietta was "I didn't know Sarah was breeding her sheep again". Henriette is beautifully bulky :-)
