There used to be a fun knitting challenge during the Winter Olympics, but I haven't heard anything about it lately, so maybe it's become obsolete...like so many things I like. That's okay, I am pretty good at playing quietly by myself.
I am really trying to get focused back to more fiber art work so I decided my Olympic challenge this time would be spinning every night. Actually, I'm trying to be more mindful of several things I love to do, but let get buried by daily home and farm chores...and too much phone time...so I created a weekly schedule that I'm trying to follow.
Mondays are for prep work (for what I want to play with during the week, not hoarding toilet paper ;-), Tuesdays are for knitting, Wednesdays are for painting, Thursdays are for spinning and Fridays are for learning. I am trying to spend one hour each day doing something I love.
I did reasonably well last week and I'm excited to continue on this week. The picture at the top is from the last two Thursdays. The little dark skein is actually from a few weeks ago, but I threw it in the mix too because it's Muuuuffin :-). The medium dark is some vintage Jared from 2016, just before he moved to Kentucky and the light gray is Mini Moose. Three of my all time favorite sheep :-).
Are you watching the Olympics? Are you doing any knitting...or spinning?

Not sure if I have left very many comments--but I do read your blog--and like you said--so many 'things' have changed and things we liked to do are gone" so like you I am trying to get back to some things I enjoy--I spend too much time just with fabric--I used to enjoy painting and have several projects to do--but??? A year ago now I bought 3 little kits and the tools to learn to do wool items--still in the box--so I would like to adopt your new plan--though I do try to do one--I am a routine girl--I just need to design a new one for me--doing some new hobbies!! oh and I am collecting some wool pieces to do a sheep wall hanging--so will be thinking a lot about you and yours!!! hugs, di
Lovely yarn and know it's special because it's from your sheep!
Hugs!
Gorgeous yarn from beloved sheep who provided gorgeous wool for your enjoyment! :-) Love your plan for doing something you love every day. I wish I would follow your example. I knit some slippers for the 2010 knitting olympics. https://ineedorange.blogspot.com/2010/02/updates_23.html As I recall it, the official (and officious?) olympics had a snit that anyone dared use THEIR name in any way, and that was a dose of cold water dumped on anyone wanting to knit along during the winter games. Ah well. I loved those slippers. They wore out. :-) Now my wool slippers are Halflingers. :-)
Watching a bit of the Olympics, but no knitting or spinning.
I'm not watching. I'm in a show hole with Poldark. Anyway, I like your schedule, I may do something like that too. I "waste" too much time without even knowing it.
Beautiful wool.
I had knee surgery mid December and planned ahead. I really want to knit, and actually finish, a sweater. I have way too many UFOs (unfinished objects) stashed away in closets. With this in mind, I got a cardigan sweater kit from Wool and the Gang. I finished the back and am working on the first front side panel. Fingers crossed!
P.S. PT is the pits!!!
I play well by myself also. :) I have a small project I work on each evening while I watch tv
I have been weaving to the Olympics again. Until I fell celebrating the Seahawks win last evening. So now I am on the couch with ice. But I may pick up my knitting while my back heals.
I should be knitting mittens but I am not!
Shameless stupid. I am telling me all the reasons I haven't to go fiber.Barn cleaning, coop cleaning, and so forth. If the truth is known. I find a photo jigsaw from the Crazy sheep lady and hide out finishing the latest.
