Somehow I Thought It Would Be Noisier

I'm finding everything about this very interesting.  I've seen them in all stages individually and I've seen their holes in the ground, but I'd really love to be able to watch one emerge from the ground all the way through to shedding.

The Farmer's Almanac has a great article with all sorts of information if you are interested in learning more.

I am sure it WILL get noiser; SO noisy! I'm glad we don't have cicadas here; their noise is something that shreds my last nerve. Don't know how people can stand it!

The noise in our woods (central KY) is increasing a little bit each day. There are still plenty more to hatch out, so I think the noise will increase.

You have cicadas...you will have to video them sometime:)

Definitely correct...annoyingly so! Get some headphones to drown out the drone!

It’s fascinating how nature surprises us with quiet moments we might expect to be loud. Watching something emerge slowly like that really makes you appreciate the small wonders around us. I just shared a new travel post. I am excited for you to read it. Thank you. Happy weekend.

I had read that there would be a lot of cicadas over east this year. We don't get them here.
