2015 Hug A Sheep Party

I'm going to post a huge amount of pictures here today just in case things get stay crazy with the house and I don't have much time tomorrow.  Hopefully there will be more pictures tomorrow and the next day as well!  Amy took tons of awesome shots and we had a great Hug a Sheep party :-). A huge thank you to everyone who came out to help show some sheep some appreciation :-D.

"It's going to look like the Woody and Liddy show in all these pictures, but everyone needs to remember that I, Ewen McTeagle, am the original spokesman for (Inter)National Hug a Sheep Day!"

When Kate got here last fall, the first two or three times we had company, she'd come right up and greet everyone, but then go off and sit under a tree for awhile and just watch what was going on until she figured things out.  I'm pretty sure she thought yesterday was a party just for her :-D.

Woody

Baaxter and Woody.  Big boys!

Everyone got hugs and cookies, even out back :-).

Yep, Woody again.

Lots of photo opportunities!

And back scratches :-).

And cookies...for Woody (and everyone else ;-).

This is why Woody is getting so many cookies and hugs.  Teefers! :-)

And tongues.  Everyone was really good about not over-feeding Miss Weaslie this year.  Thank you!!!

Liddy was also the darling of the party.   Lots of darlings ;-).

"Who is that cute lambie?"

"Whatcha doing Miss B?"

Miss B was one of the watchers last year.  This year she's one of the spinners.  And a very good one!

I kept hoping to grab my Baaxter sweater and sit down and knit for awhile, but that never happens...and that's okay.

Liddy and I had fun doing a little shopping.

Although Liddy was disappointed to find all the bowls empty!

I haven't shared the story of the sheep cart yet (what a crazy summer - yes, we've had it since summer!), but here's a sneak peek.  More about it later - stay on me!

Liddy grew up with yarn, so she knows how to appreciate some pretty skeins :-).

Let us know in the comments if you did something special for the day (every day ;-).  We'd love to see pictures or links!

More tomorrow!

I snuggled the sweetest little lump of brown sugar – like I do most everyday. Bree is a real cuddler! But we were gone most of the day, so I didn't get to do anything special, other than knitting more than I usually get to. But the yarn IS homespun from one of my old lambies, so there's that!

How was Maisie with the visitors and getting her share of cookies and attention and all?
Looks like you had lovely company for the celebration! Wish I had been there.

Showed my husband the Hug A Sheep day picture and told him I wanted to go to Kentucky. (He did NOT grab the Jeep keys and say LET'S GO!) Spun a bobbin of Tunis and imagined :)

I am sure the sheep wonder why there are not more parties. So many admirers and cookies! I love the look of the sheep cart.

That looks like such a fun day! I loved my photoshoot with Suckie, even if she didn't fancy a hug! She did have an extra large helping of nuts, so she was happy enough. :)

We didn't put Maisie in the pen, but she put on a little show out back with me. Amy got pictures ;-).

What fun!! My how Woody and BB have grown up ~ Big Boys! Liddy looked right at home, checkin' things out and enjoying it all :-) Love that blue bowl she picked out! We worked on building the wood shed. Repotted some plants in the sunroom. Picked tomatoes & carrots. Wound some yarn. Looks like we all enjoyed beautiful fall days.

What great pictures. It looks like fun was had by all. And Liddy sure does know how to pick out some fine things. Although I think she likes the yarn because it is speckled like her. Both of which look totally lovely.

Anybody else want to read the story of Sara(h)'s sweater that she's wearing? Even if it has been told before. It is beautiful and looks so good on her. (Sorry I forgot the spelling and forgot to look it up before posting. My other non-sheepy friend Sarah hates it when people forget the H. Forgive me this time?)
