2013 Hug A Sheep Day

It's almost time to celebrate (Inter) National Hug a Sheep Day!

October 26th, 2013

Please help spread the word to all the sheep farms, ranches, yarn shops, craft guilds, school groups, fiber festivals...

We will once again host an open farm afternoon here.  Come out and hug some of your favorite sheep :-).  Well, maybe not your favorite sheepy.  I think she's still mad at me for being gone for three days :-o.

Watch the blog for details and check the Hug a Sheep blog for an event in your area!

And now, for your latest installment of Better Know Your Punkin's Patch Sheep, who modeled for the Hug a Sheep logo?

Oh my goodness! I didn't realize it was so close! I'm still on the road so I forgot all about it! I will be home by then.

Might be Ewen McTeagle he has a beautiful black face:)

Ewen McTeagle came first to my mind as well, but then, knowing how much of a miracle girl Maisie is, I thought S. went with Maisie.

Ewen! Because he's tall enough to hug without standing on your head. And because he likes it :-)

Punkin, as a lamb, I believe, was the source of the Logo design. The day Oct 31/weekend celebrates your finding him and giving him his forever momma and home.
The photos from the prior Hug A Sheep Day celebrations on your farm make me glad that I hugged 'em while they were still around for me to do so. Such poignant memories. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I will warn our most huggable sheep at work to get ready. :)

Darn, I'm going to miss it. That's the day the chicks are getting their cold-weather training, which will be an all day adventure.

Maisie's so short that you WOULD have to stand on your head to hug her! But she DID finally let me give her an ear scratch and a tummy rub last night. Silly girl!

for me
she made me fall in love with sheep
and their wonderful ways...mostly

Our sheep will be so happy to hear about this!

I thought you took some artistic freedom in designing the logo:-). I should have gone with my first instinct (Ewen), knowing that Maisie does not have a dark face, to start with:-).
