That Darn Maisie

Well, I thought I was going to be crafting a post this evening about my latest crazy spinning and knitting adventure and I took this picture with my iPhone this afternoon because I loved that I was once again sitting in the car knitting and listening to the radio watching Maisie out grazing, much like during the Iknitarod.  This time I was listening to the radio because our church, Hopewell, was going to be featured on NPR's All Things Considered!

I took one picture that clearly showed Maisie and Blossom up by the fence (because I know that's always required ;-).  The other pictures were different angles focused on the knitting with Maisie et al, blurred into the background.  I knew the dogs would be a big story feature and was waiting to hear the canine portion of the interviews.  I about fell out of the car when who gets to be the big star (or at least that's how she's going to tell it ;-) but Maisie!

Here's a link to Maisie's 15 seconds of fame. With a little naughty Hickory thrown in for good measure ;-).

We'll talk spinning and knitting tomorrow :-).

Everyone at Punkin's Patch is a star.

Ok, you have a house and a wool house and you go knit in your car????

So I can listen to the radio. We are out in the boonies and don't get good reception in the house ;-).

Sara, that is SO COOL! I made Rick listen to it; "That's Sara's sheep and Sara's horse!!!" :-)

Go Maisie. Next stop Broadway. Um, I don't remember the story of Hickory stepping on her. For real? That's one tough lamb.

Yeah - The Danger Lamb. I mentioned it but didn't go into a lot of detail - to keep Hickory in the witness protection program ;-).

Cool! Completely understand the sitting in the truck to listen to NPR. Most places I've lived we've had to do this. :)

What an engaging piece that Leslie put forth. Here's to show you that miracles are not to be bought but are out there for all those who believe "Ask and you shall receive...." Thanks, Maisie for affirming this.

We were driving home from a shopping trip, talking, and suddenly I heard the bit about praying for Maisie. Mr. Dreamy thought I was nuts. I screamed out, "I know that lamb!" He hadn't been listening at all - but I guess I was 'multi-tasking'! I heard it! What fun to 'know' Maisie and then hear about her on the radio!

One of the best things about coming home after being gone for a couple of weeks, is getting to catch up all at once on the happenings at Equinox Farm. Just home from Canada and I have has the best time reading all of the latest posts. My friend, Jean, may be coming down from Ontario in October and I want to bring her to meet you. She follows your blog now, since I mentioned it a while back to her. Love to all, and to St. Tim (beard or no beard, I think he's handsome).

Aargh! I was just going in to work as this came on in my car. I should have waited just a few seconds to leave!! :)

I do believe that Maisie was being (and is still) kept in quite a few hearts all over the country. It is only fitting that she got national coverage.

A celebrity amongst us! NPR, no less-good taste, Maisie. Which lamb was it that SCREAMED through a service and had to be taken out to the crying room with St. Tim?

That beautiful little church is a gem. And the piano player ain't bad, either ;-) Hooray for Maisie's 5 minutes of fame. I bet she is the first sheep ever to be mentioned by name on NPR!

Well, THAT lamb was Keebs. Maisie also hollered, but I was the one who took her out...and she knew exactly what car was ours and ran right to it. Luckily NPR neglected that part of the story ;-).
