Icing

After such a warm afternoon yesterday, I resigned myself to the inevitable.  Winter was over.  I realize most everyone dreams of winter's demise and longs for green grass, gardens, sunglasses, shorts...  Not me.  There's not much that makes me happier than waking up to a cold, snowy morning.  The unexpected snow this morning was just icing on the Iditarod/Iknitarod cake.

Saint Tim falls in the green grass and shorts camp but agreed to go out and take some sweater pictures while I fed this morning.  I carried a few flakes of hay outside in hopes a few sheep would play along for a few minutes and about half did.

Woolliam decided pretty quickly that this was "really stupid" and headed back to bed.   And that was about the end of the shoot ;-).

Keebs

Sweet, sweet Hank.

Your sweater is BEAUTIFUL!! You have to be so proud of the lovely work you did! Were you able to get a picture of the sheep that gave your the wool? Love the color!! And a perfect day for sweater weather!

Fantastic job on the sweater, and thank you St. Tim for manning the camera so we can see it. Love the photo with Keebler and also Hank, very big, big, sweet Hank. So good you got snow to model your sweater, would look a little strange modeling here in CA's 85 degree weather.

I don't think I have ever enjoyed a post more. Truly.
Stunning work from you the Shepherdess, you the knitter...and a very special nod to St. Tim who captured it all so brilliantly.

Stunning! Thanks, Saint Tim, for braving the chill to take the photos.
The sheep look wonderful too. In the second photo, is that Keebs or Woolliam with the cute little wrinkles above his tail?

I want one!!! How about a raffle. Get each person to pay $10 each to win the chance at you making them one. The person that wins gives you their measurements & viola they (me) has a new beautiful handcrafted sweater! I'll bet you would make millions. OK, a hundred at least.

That is so beautiful! And, I love seeing you out and about with your wooly friends.

Love, love the 'connection' between you and Keebs (nice catch, Saint Tim).

By the way, that jacket you're wearing is really nice --did you knit that?
Go ahead, you can gloat a little.
Strutting is also permitted.
It is Fabulous!!

Dimple butt would be Keebler. Graham has FOUR butt cheeks because his tail is so fat and dimpled. Sigh.

What a gorgeous series of shots, I am no knitter (I can do knit and pearl)but i understand how wonderful it must be to wear such a beautiful cardi created from your own wool. Just in case you have not time to pop over and read my reply to yours, i have taken a leaf out of your book and have found a mill, only an hour or so from here. I have sent her a bit of hairys roving so she can tell me if they can spin it.. Fingers crossed it is long enough .. many thanks for the encouragement.. celi

Blog bombing here. I found your sweater photos on ravelry, then discovered that not only did you make this incredible sweater in a beautiful color, but you did it from start to finish. I can't tell you how impressed I am! Will be emailing around my knitting group when the season shifts, some farmers there too. Thanks for sharing the photos. Very inspiring.
