Little Pink Riding Hood

Just a quick one handed typing post (other hand holding sleeping baby ;-) to say everything's okay.  Well, as okay as it can be when you've had a really tough row to hoe as a wee little lambie.  A vitamin/mineral deficiency has caused problems with some of Maisie's wool falling off, her legs going wonky, probably the troubles with digestion and even the poor sleeping could be tied in.  She's eating really well though, has gained two pounds and is feeling much better.  She's just got more catching up to do than a normal lamb.

We made a visit to the vet clinic this morning and they decided her ankle joints were compromised to where they needed splinting to try to correct her growth.  They also gave her some booster shots and in general were not exceptionally popular with Miss Maisie ;-).  Until they brought out a new fleece jacket.  With a hood that covers up her bare little neck and a velcro fleece belly band for even more warmth.  Too stinkin' cute.

And then we all had to take turns holding her and passing our phones around and doing a little lamb snorgling :-).

"It was really pretty awful."

"But I guess I'll forgive you."

"But now I am headed to the house!"

Oh -- a new jacket -- how pretty! Good to see the splints haven't slowed her down and hope all the shots will help her get healthier.

Lots of Snorgles from MN

Wow, new outfit, so cute. What vitamins are they giving her? Sometimes we forget there are birth defects and preemie issues with critters like there are in humans.

I could snorgle her for an hour or six. She looks pretty determined to get back into the house for a Betsy nap.

I am gonna HAVE to come and snuggle with that little cutie! At least the splints are cute. :)

Love the new coat! Nothing like new clothes to make you forget your miseries. Did they sign her splints?
Give her upright hugs from me. :-)

Aw, love the new outfit for Maisie! What a lovely thing for them to do for her! I love the beautiful green vetwrap to coordinate with her new hoodie! Tell her splints are nothing--my Petunia will attest to that! Keep on truckin' on the Goodwill Lamb Tour, Maisie! You are spreading love for lambs, everywhere!

I'm glad the vets were able to help Miss Maisie. Pink is her color, and looks so good with green leggies. Hope you are over the hump.

Isn't it amazing how quickly they burrow into your heart and you into their's?
She is styling in her new coat and well I'm going to think of them as leg warmers.
Best of luck to both of you!

Could you just drive her over so we could snuggle with her too?!

She sure is looking good. ..... She's everything a big bad wolf would want ... la la la.''

Keep her inside ... or send her south, to us. We don't have any wolves in our neighborhood & would love to take care of her!

I hope she hasn't to wear splints for too long...she doesn't seem too happy of this situation:( The best thing of baby lambs is that they are fast in recovery and do anything for their mom! Maybe she could be upset she can't play like she want!
Good luck baby girl Maisie, and we hope to see her jumping aroud very soon.

She's quite the little girl, with a wardrobe of TWO coats already. I suspect more will be forthcoming for Christmas. Poor little tyke is having a hard go of it. Good thing she has a super mom!
