Another Interesting Development

I don't remember a hotter summer ever.

And I don't remember a frost this early either.  Handy and Hickory from the back porch this morning.

Not surprisingly I remembered to cover my flowers last night...but never gave a thought to the tomatoes. Sigh. Well, I might have eventually thought about them...but at that point couldn't bring myself to crawl out of my warm bed to do the right thing.  Not all were lost, but I should still probably have my gardening license revoked.

Same as you -- but not the extreme!
We had our hottest summer in memory and down in the low 40s last night!! Grrrrrr- Had to bring the orchids in!!
The frost on your pasture is lovely!! Doesn't seem to bother Handy and Hickory a bit!!

Looks like powdered sugar on your sweet grass :-)

Maybe your tomatoes can be stewed and canned? Its chili tonite!!! (Pun intended)

I have two acres in the back that need planted in something next year. It won't be veggies! I'm thinking dye plants. Okay maybe one or two tomato plants.

Holy cow! I can't believe you have frost before us! We're at 6,880' elevation, and it's still relatively warm, which is very unusual here. Topsy-turvey!
