Up With The Chickens

The first sheep heading out for breakfast. These are the young sheep. The older sheep like to sleep in. I am an older sheep ;-).

And here comes a chicken.

And Graham Lamb. Hank is beat. He's been working awful hard lately, especially in the wee hours of the morning. We're sure glad he's here.

Because the water is always better on the other side of the fence.

Marcel and Hank are special friends. Marcel had gone out with all the other young sheep, but when Hank stayed up on the hill, he came back to stand with him. Hank loves Marcel and washes his face and ears like a momma would do for her puppy.

Here's a funny Hank and Marcel story. Marcel is a cookie eating fool and comes up to the gate at the back of the barn every night, puts one of his front feet on it and proceeds to BANG BANG BANG the gate in hopes someone will give him a cookie. Hank was standing next to him one night and when he started clanging the gate, he reached up with his front paw and put it on Marcel's leg.

"That'll do."

Marcel stopped banging.

20 and I are headed to the Kentucky Wool Festival this early morning. Come see us!

Awww. I'm so glad Marcel wants to be Hank's friend. The sheep just don't get what a great job Hank is doing for them. Marcel's dad was dog friendly too.

Hank reminds me of Nana from Peter Pan. He is taking good care of his flock and knows that some need extra care.
I love this post.
What beautiful morning photos. Isn't it wonderful to get up with the chickens... sometimes?
