Sunny, Smiley...Cheeto...?

I wish I'd never called this pretty ewe "Cheeto".  It was cute nickname at the time...but surely we can come up with something better?  Help!

*      *      *      *      *

I first met "Cheeto" back in 2014 apparently.  I recently stumbled across an old photo of her in my sheep files.  She was snuggled up with a cute white ewe lamb and I'm wondering if she was one of the early Lamb Camp Calendar models?  I'm not sure why it was in a random folder with no similar pictures around her though.  I honestly think it was destiny.

The first time I actually remember meeting her was early last spring.  That morning she was just another ewe I was watching in the lambing field.  She was resting out in the field, legs crossed in front of her, and I thought she was cute...so I took her picture.

Later that day and into the evening, every time I turned around I'd see her looking at me.  Sometimes standing right beside me.  "Hello there! Would you like to take my picture again?" This went on for a couple of weeks until she lambed...and I took pictures of her and her pretty lambs.

This spring she picked up right where she left off last year.  I'd be crouched down helping a lamb or taking a picture and I'd turn around and she'd be standing right next to me.  "Hi there!" It never failed to make me smile :-).

She had two beautiful lambs this year, Big Moose and a sister who is staying at Final Frontier Farm as a replacement ewe.  She probably could have lambed one more year, but she has an arthritic knee and I wanted to retire her here...so I could see her smiley face every day.

I don't know why we pick the friends we do or why they pick us.  I'm just glad we're friends.

"Hi there!"

"Would you like to take my picture?"

One of these is a new puzzle :-).

Enjoy!

She looks beautiful... Bella. She's a beautiful ewe with a beautiful face and smile.

I vote for Winifred, or Winnie, which is a Welsh name, meaning ‘blessed peacemaking’. She looks like a peaceful, friendly sheep :-)

I Googled Moose, since she's a Moose momma. and learned their latin species are Alces. So my brain turned that into Alice. A nice steady name. She looks like a nice, calm, steady lady.

Of course I like Winnie too.

Have fun deciding. We'll be waiting for your ruling.

I like Alice too for her- but looking at the photos I think Angel will suit her. It looks like doves are hovering over her.

I vote for Phoebe – from the cast of "Friends." 😉

They are all good names......Friends are just the B E S T! Whatever they are named. Big Moose's moma, nice. So who birthed mini Moose?

How about Ellie or Sally? And I like the names Alice and Winnie too.

Also, I’ve been wondering about the other ewe who came to your farm along with the two Mooses and the lovely smiley ewe. Is she still around?

I looked at the pictures before I read the blog post. The first thing that came to my mind was how pretty she is. Don't have a recommendation for a name, I enjoy your blog.

Loving all the name suggestions!!! :-D

Mini Moose's mom is 135, so a cousin of Big Moose's mom 186. The 1 means they were both born in 2011, like Muffin's number is 714, meaning she was born in 2017. While 135 was okay with me snorgling her baby (Mini Moose) this spring, she did not show any interest in becoming a pet herself and mostly thought I was weird. I'll try again next spring ;-).

Regarding the other older ewe who came with Cheeto, she too decided she didn't like being a pet and the more time I spent with the lambs, the more unhappy she got :-/. A spooked sheep is dangerous and I think she may have run over Cheeto and flared her knee up last week :-(. I took her back to Final Frontier.

I lost my favorite ewe this year. Her name was Vanna. Her twin sister is Pat. :)

What a sweetie and so adorable. She looks like a model and like she's posing for the camera. I'm not good at names so nothing in that department from me.

I think she deserves a "Mrs" or a "Miz", whatever name you choose.

Not "Cheeto". She is a Mrs/Miz Bella or a Mrs/Miz Nora or a Mrs/Miz Winnie. Those are perfect for a momma sheep in her golden years.

She is grand and very fortunate to be with you. I would vote for Miz. Winnie.

I think she is very Winsome, so that is my name suggestion.
