And So It Goes

And we find ourselves sitting on the couch in front of the fireplace at the end of November with a tiny three pound bottle lamb...

WOW! 3 lbs. is small for a Shetland lamb...what's this one's story? Best of luck - that lamb landed in the perfect spot!

Even smaller if you're a Dorset cross!

I think Peanut would be a good name for a ram or ewe lamb. Too cold for the cot in the barn like with Blossom, so in a nice toasty house is good. I have raised several lambs and goats in the bath tub for a few weeks. Good luck, we know you have had lots of experience.

A little one in the house for Christmas! How wonderful! Exhausting, crazy, but wonderful. Can't wait to hear how she came to win the Lamb Powerball. I vote for Noelle also.

All you'll want for Christmas is a full nights sleep..... in heavenly peace. Looks like you got your present a little early. Precious photo of your first night together. Enjoy ;-)

A great Christmas present - for both you and the little lambie. She will do fine in your care, tho you may be a sleepless mess for a couple of days ;-) Can't wait to hear the full story of how she came to be with you.

Two comments...
A. Further proof that the horrific and unbearable pain of losing our animals does not extinguish or overide the desire in our hearts to love more animals.
B. Gloria. So that when she's driving you crazy running around in the garden this spring you can yell "GLORIA IN EXCELCIS DEO, YOU GET YOUR HINDQUARTERS OVER HERE RIGHT THIS MINUTE!!!"

Lots of ideas for names..."Sweet Pea?"

How beautiful and sweet!

She really doesn't look that small in the picture here, but I checked your twitter pictures and love the one where "she found the sheep" there she looks to tiny with little toothpick legs poking out under her coat. Bet she is wondering if one of those sheep is her mother ..... since she came home in your car did she come from the same farm as Blossom? Keep us posted on progress.

Tiny is right, but what a cutie! I see some sleepless nights feeding the wee one, but when they grow up like Lila and Blossom, it's worth it all. Right?

I love her little footsies. They'll be carrying her into trouble soon enough.
The kitchen snapshot really shows what a wee one she is. Blessings sent your way.
