The Dog Days Of June

Ugh. 102 degrees today. This is the hottest I can ever remember being and I went to Texas one time! One time. That place was so hot I've never been back ;-).

I've got the barn opened up as much as possible. There's a good breeze - usually - through the aisleway, so I made a temporary stall at the end and picked up another fan.

Woolliam's still not happy. Everyone is hunkering down, trying to stay cool.

Marcel: "Sherman's hogging the fan!"

Sherman: "Yeah, it's great! You should get yourself one."

And poor Blossom. So hot. So miserable that all she wants is her momma. So she can lay on me. To feel cooler?

Some iPhone shots.

Nothing like a wool blanket in the middle of summer :-o.

Yuck! Pretty soon you will have to put a window air conditioner in the barn. Don't envy those temperatures.

A HEATED wool blanket, at that!

I don't suppose I should mention that it's in the 60s and raining here?

Poor Woolliam! He looks like he needs an ice cold brew.

Yikes! I HATE the heat - good thing I live in Canada; give me winter anytime. At least I can dress for the cold. It was nearly 30 C today and I sweltered while planting more flowers and herbs in the backyard.

I can't imagine being out there with a wool coat. Poor babies.

Hope it cools off soon for you all.

I am reeee-ally sorry about the over 100 temps. This ol'Texan seriously considered moving to Idaho last year when we had months! of that kinda hot. I'll turn my a/c vents your way (they are the only reason I'm still here).

We usually get that heat wave while we're at the county fairs. One year my youngest kid's black lamb was so miserable that he quit eating. So we gave him a quick hose soaking (after judging was over). He wasn't thrilled, until he realized that he was much cooler

I keep telling my Shug I wanna taka a vacation somewhere south to the ocean. He says it's too hot. We were 3deg warmer than Charleston, SC the other day! We're in Indiana!! We hit the 100 mark in June!

The good part is that after triple digit temperatures, everything else will feel cooler.

Aww I feel so sorry for the poor hot things...sometimes I don't feel like eating either. We had 100 the other day..I heard lots of tourists say they thought they would die from the heat.

How about a bucket of ice behind that fan so it draws cool air:)
