I'm thinking that Frankie may not mind the long, cold, dark winter so much if he has a roommate. He's such a handsome guy but me thinks he needs a best friend. (If it happens, you should name the newcomer Johnnie.)
He'll get a buddy eventually, but it will have to be after the ground dries out and the grass starts growing here and the horses up in Ohio have been turned back out this spring.
I turned Frankie out in the front field for the first time today. Since he hadn't been out on grass for a couple months or so I've been building him up to the diet change over the last 10 days.
I know we can rehab all the hoof damage, sheep and horse, this spring and summer, but for now the mud is just atrocious...and dangerous, for all of us. What a year(s)!
Happy horse! I keep waiting for the mud to go away too, poor little Drifter looks like a pinto with all the mud on his sides and belly, and it's too cold to give him a bath.
