Faux Fall - And The Final (For Now) Freebie

Every stinking time I think "Okay.  Whew.  All I have to do is make it three more days and it's going to rain and cool off and summer will finally be over." It teases me with a cool down and then right back into the 80s it goes.  We hit 86 the other day...in the FOURTH WEEK OF OCTOBER!

It  sure looks like fall...

Even sort of like a pretty fall...

But this is Baaxter hogging the fan like he does all summer...at 7:30 in the morning...on October 20th. Hershey looked so miserable the night before (how on earth could it be that humid when it's so dry and crispy?!?) that I finally had to do the ole cookie test to make sure he was okay enough that I could go to bed.  If you don't perk up when the cookie box comes out, we call the vet.  Highly scientific...but actually very accurate ;-).

These pictures were taken yesterday morning.  It's cold and raining today.  We'll see if it lasts or if it's just a fake cold down for the big neighborhood Pumpkin (Pumpkin with a P) Party this weekend.   The 10 day forecast is encouraging...but I've seen that before.

The Punkin's (no extra P) Patch Hug a Sheep/Open Farm Day is next weekend!  I thought about trying to take a new "promo" picture this year, but how on earth can you beat last year?

Actually, that whole post is pretty cute.  I love to go back and revisit the good times.  Even some of the bad times.  The link to the Ewenice and Renny tree had me crying this morning, but it was such a beautiful gift.

You know what - leave a comment telling us one/some of your favorite old posts and that will be the third calendar drawing.  Petunia can draw for that one Monday or Tuesday.  And for anyone wanting a calendar but didn't win one, I promise I'll get the Farm Shop updated this weekend!

I think my favorite post will always be this one: http://myfavoritesheep.blogspot.com/2012/02/grahaminator-2000.html

Graham and his tool fetish... ;)

You know I had a special place in my heart for Graham. My favorite posts were about him and his weird brand of mischief. I especially loved the building of the Grahaminator.

My favourite posts are always the ones where you have just brought home the newest lambie in need of your special brand of tlc. Who can resist those cute little faces, lying on your lap or cuddled up with Betsy, or making a hay mess in your house.

Everything Graham/Keebler... NO. Liddle Liddie. She was all brand new when I first found a crazy sheep lady. Oh wait. Bunkwinkle in the Unit. (I never heard of them but now I see them EVERYWHERE. Minus sheep sadly.)
Honestly... you have never written a post or posted pictures on Instagram/Facebook that I don't feel compelled to LOVE it. Thank you :)

I would be hard pressed to pick a favourite. There are too many. I do not think you can top last years shot. Hug B

I love all your posts (and the characters) at Equinox Farm, but my absolute favorites involve Renny - and the most favorite two - when you brought her home and the video of her first shearing and of course that her fleece gets her green blanket every year!

I just love all the baby lambs, big sheep adventures, and the picture above of 20 being nuzzled is just priceless!!

May favorite posts were about Maisie when you first got her. That's when I started following!!

Still my all-time favorite was the Halloween post with pictures first of Maisie wearing a wizard hat, which she obviously did not like. The post goes on to show Maisie without the hat.... and then the finale with Iris wearing the hat and looking at the camera with the caption, "I really hate that Maisie." Priceless. Still makes me smile. Kathi Littrell

The Ewenice and Renny Tree link brought a tear to my eye as well...God is there when he puts sun in the best places! I have to admit I cannot name a favorite post here on your blog, I love so may of them because of your love for animals and your joy in life with them!

You capture the personalities, antics and beauty SO well ~ it's impossible to pick just one!
All things Graham Lamb hold a special place ♡ as does all of your bottle lambs, including MM :-) ♡ the Cool Hair Club makes me smile ♡ as does all of your supporting cast, big & small, wooly & not, right down to the bees (not so much the spiders, though) ♡
I always think of MM under your Christmas tree, but then... head butt!

Maisie, wait, no, Graham, no wait, Liddie, Hank. Hank and his winning ways!

Oh goodness. . . . how to pick a favorite? I discovered your wonderful blog right when you first got Maisie, so she's pretty special. Since then there have been soooo many . . . too many to choose! I love your posts where you're taking a walk around your property & Comby tags along. Oh, especially the ones in the snow, like when Comby trudged along in the snow to follow you!

Sorry the main comments box doesn't seem to e working so putting this in as a reply to a previous one.... I love all the posts, have learnt a lot about spinning, knitting, wool prep, photography. I think my fave has to be when you are at lamb camp, sharing with us the pics from various other farms. If I had to pick one specific post it would be the video post from earlier this year when you filmed 'lamb races' that brought back happy memories of time sent on a sheep farm in Wales, UK as a child

My favorite post? The first, the most recent, and everyone in between.
