I'm counting any wool work as applying to my Tour de Fleece challenge this year. This includes washing fleeces, prepping washed wool, spinning wheel maintenance, sampling...and of course, spinning.
My Jensen wheel was in dire need of a good cleaning and reconditioning. Anytime you need steel wool to remove dust from something... A little elbow grease? Good as new :-). Such a pretty wheel.
Here are some freshly washed Buddy curls ready for the combs.
I love how the Cotswold curls remain even after carding or combing.
A small sample - ready to Andean ply.
40 wraps per inch. Within the range I want (36-40), but I'd like to try for just a tiny bit thinner.
But see how the curls shine through even after spinning? Cotswold is fun :-). Buddy's going to make a beautiful lace project.

Looks heavenly! Your sample, plied, is 40 wraps per inch which looks to be thin enough without losing the little crimpiness of the Cotswold fiberl I like it just the way it is :-)

Wow! I didn't realise you could spin something that fine from wool. I'm learning something new.
Such an over acheiver .... All I have accomplished today was to ply some beginning spinning so I could have couple more empty bobbins to spin for TdF tonight. What I did today you could tie a boat to a dock with that rope.
I wonder if feeding and watering the sheep that produce the wool for spinning counts in TdF too, LOL.

So pretty....both the wheel and the lovely yarn. I think Tombstone Livestock is on to something here...surely all the love we pour into our woolies everyday counts right? ;)

Cotswold is easy to get super thin and even because it's strong and long ;-).
I think anything with our woollies counts so long as you don't do like me and lose focus on the spinning...

The texture and color of the spinning wheel wood and then that of the yarn on top of the other wood surface, are just magical. Very organic. Love it!

love it! wonder what the difference would be re fineness spinning from the lock.....let you know in about 5-6 weeks :) the clean wheel...ah yes, every time i take mine out into the 'light of day' like with a group, i look at it and almost throw a bag over it's head! I promise to clean my wheel...

And that 1" gauge is really nice. I wrap around a ruler - I like your wood gauge sooo much better.
