20 has been looking forward to going to Ohio Valley Natural Fibers for a long time. We made a quick trip up last week to pick up the last of this year's roving and he had a blast. 20's a great traveling companion :-).
He was especially excited to ride the ferry!
He found a perfect sized ladder to help him get a good view of everything.
"This is WAY faster than how we do it at home!"
We took the rescue Jacob fleeces from the shearer with us and had them processed into black, white and gray roving.
20 found lots to do to keep himself busy while we waited.
He was especially intrigued by the colored wool.
The spinning machinery was a highlight.
And when he'd seen pretty much everything, he settled in with a good book.
Until Wile E. Coyote showed up! At first 20 thought it best that he try to hide behind some wool, but then he remembered that Hank would protect him and he sent the "genius" packing!
Back home in time for a nice afternoon nap :-).

How did you find time to do that last week? Great photos, glad 20 had a good time, I see it was too warm for him to wear his wool sweater.
Loved the tour! :)
Cool trip! The last picture of 20 should have been with him having his hands positioned behind his head, counting the stars in the sky (oooppsss, he is in the wool house).
Or him whistling.... this is how he looks to me in that pic....
By the way, do kids wave, when they see 20 riding with you? I assume that he is old enough to be sitting in the front seat...Otherwise, you are setting yourself up for a hot driving-violation ticket! Just sayin....
Loved the OVNF photos! 20 has such a great way to tell about his visit. I loved his standing on the ladder. Not often do you see a sheep standing. And.... who knew that 20 could read? ( English, no less!) What a great companion to travel with. Does he sing to the radio or just hum? LOL
Well, after a second look, maybe he is laying on his back and counting the stars...Is he laying on his back or side!? Got confused by his nude body:-).
Fun!!! I love Ohio Valley's roving. looks like 20 had a graaaand adventure!
Cute. 20 is very smart. So many nice things to see too.
20's Auntie Reg was appalled that he didn't at least have his shorts on ;-).
I'd love to visit a fiber mill. I love the last picture the best!
hmmm... does 20 have a day job being a passenger for people who want to drive in the carpool lane? He seems to awfully like car rides!
Thank you for tour - the machining involved for that is incredible! MY grandmother worked in a fiber mill in Chicago in the early 1900's; thats the city where she met my grandpa... now im wondering what kind of fiber! cotton, or...woool?
20 discussed his trip with me to the fiber mill this weekend. He has requested a jacket like the inspectors wear to protect his fleece when he is around heavy equipment. He also requested directions and a map before going on these trips with Sara. He said that lady in the box giving directions wore him out. He can read maps and sing at the same time. No wonder he was still napping when I saw him this weekend.
Thank you 20! That was a wonderful tour. Have you explained all the goings on to the others so that they know what happens with their wool?
I think the jacket idea is great! And, I'm afraid that the lady in the box giving direction would make me CRAZY! I'm sure that you would be much nicer to listen too
Someday maybe you could give us a ferry tour? We don't have such things out here in the western high desert.
oh, that was very clever, but then, you are! now for the spinning, heh heh
Great tour ;)
Brilliant tour! I love the photos and I'd have to say I'm intrigued by all the different rovings, coloured and natural. What a great day you guys had.
Wile E. made me a little nervous too.
Not such a genius hanging around OVNF .... lots of wool, but no sheep in there!
20 is safe now.
