And The Names Are...

Daniel Not-Boone.  Not Daniel Boone, because one Boone (Rebecca ;-) is plenty around here!  Just kidding RB.  Sort of...  If his face looks familiar, it's because he's Marcel's younger brother.

Bitey Whitey.  This is what he looks like, but my favorite view of Bitey Whitey is when he comes up and sticks his nose in my face and his big ears fall backwards all the way down like "Do your ears hang low..."  Very cute.

And, with the shortage of grass in their paddock, having to fight over the same blades seems completely rational.

Count Chocula.  Saint Tim came up with this name accidentally last week when we were trying to do something with one of the other boys and Chocula wouldn't leave him alone and kept chewing on his shirt.

 "Cut it out, Count Chocula!"

I think that's a great name for him :-D.

I have yet to get a good shot of Hershey, who was supposed to be a fancy pants breeding ram on a big farm and what he really wants to do...

...is just lay down next to me and catch some zzzzzz's.  He's officially one of the friendliest sheep on the farm, and we have some FRIENDLY sheeps!

"Hey!  Where'd the guy with the cookies go???"

Yep, they're already cookie monsters.  Oh, and the big white lamb is only going to be here a couple more days.  He IS going on to the breeding farm, but in the short time he's been here he's been called Bitey Off-Whitey, Dinsdale, Graham Jr. and a few, um, other names ;-).

Yep. I agree. These are some handsome fellows! Even neater looking than in the original pictures, from a week ago. And now let me go back and take a second look:-)! Officially in love!

Hershey is getting ready for "Hug a Sheep Day" duties. They are all sweet.

Love the picture of "where did the guy with the cookies go".

They are all adorable, but I admit I am partial to Daniel Not-Boone. I love that sweet face. The names are all perfect!

I am working on a plan to
sheep-nap Count Chocula. Beware.

What kind of sheep are they?

Great names, they are just perfect. Good to hear they are settling in and getting spoiled already! Daniel Not Boone is a looker:)

Well, I think if you open your car door, Count Chocula will jump right in :-).

They are all sorts of different crosses bred specifically for their fleece quality and color. I think mixes of Border Leicester, CVM, Rambouillet, Cotswold, maybe a little Finn, um what else Sheepmom?

A bit of Romney too. The sheep I started with were a mishmash, so who's to say what all is in there? But the ones you listed are predominant.

Their names are all so perfect!

Count Chocula - I see a Halloween costume with a black satin cape with red lining and a sticky-up collar behind his head. If you could just get him to hold wax fang teeth in his mouth.......

Each sheep has such unique facial features! Count Chocula looks like he could have a touch of vampire in him with the area around his eyes, and Hershey's face looks like it was dipped in chocolate. Daniel and Whitey are beautiful as well.
I'm curious...... what elicited the name Daniel?
I can't wait to buy a pound of Hershey!!
