Keep Your Eyes On Your Own Race

Because if you pay too much attention to other (real) mushers, you may not catch that you've made a mistake and lost the trail and have to rip back eight. long. rows.

Back to mushing.  And, no, I probably didn't learn any lessons ;-D.

Oh, that's no fun at all. I did the same thing recently after picking up a knitting project I hadn't worked on for a while. Thought I knew what to do, but really needed to pay attention to the pattern, simple as it was. LOL. Maybe that is why some call it "knit and rip", can't get away from it, part of the process. Painful for those of us who don't have all that much time to devote to a knitting project. I found reading the pattern often and knowing what is coming up helps me in the process. LOL. Isn't that what I would tell others to do if I was teaching? Gotta laugh it away . . .

Very early in the game, I had to rip 4 1/2 long rows because I forgot to start the pattern the runs along the bottom of my sweater. I was just merrily knitting away .... oops.
