Good Ole Hank

Hank doesn't care that June has been getting all the social media attention lately.  He's happier just doing his job.

"You're a good dog, Hank.  You're doing a good job."

I started telling Hank that when he first got here and the sheep were hassling him and nobody loved him except Keebler and Graham.  I still tell him that and I know he knows exactly what I'm saying.

Those pictures would make nice St. Patrick's Day puzzles, don't you think?  Enjoy! :-)

Hank is a good dog — and very handsome, too. The sheep are lucky to have both him and June watching over them. Thanks for the puzzles!

Hank is the perfect guard dog. And handsome too! Instead of 'the wearin' of the green' it's more like 'the eatin' of the green' down there! Wow, we're so envious. Enjoy the day!

Do most of the sheep love him now?

There are still a few sheep who don't like the dogs and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. For example, none of the Nistock sheep were ever around dogs so they'd be ones I think would be most concerned, but a couple of those are Hank and June's best buddies. A couple of Kathy's, who had LGDs around them from day one, are not. And I've been around those dogs for years and I've never seen anything that would explain why they would be afraid of them. June is so confident and relaxed around the sheep that several of the scared ones are now very tolerant. Hank got punched around so much as a young dog that he mostly just stays on the perimeter and doesn't push it ;-).

Sweet photos of Hank . . . So cool of you to tell him he's loved right from the beginning.

Hank is so handsome and loyal to his sheep in spite of some of them being wary of him.
I wish we had your milder weather here.
