I'll Trade You This Sleeping Baby... A Different Kind Of Giveaway!

Well, a couple pictures of a this adorable sleeping baby...for a commenting test ;-).

I keep getting emails from friends about not being able to leave comments, but I haven't had the time/brain power/courage to look into what could be wrong.  I hate that not only am I missing your thoughts and suggestions, but when they are emailed to me (which is great, don't get me wrong!) they don't stay attached to the posts for my memories.

SO, I just did some googling and find that I am not the only one having this issue.  It was suggested to switch the comments from "embedded" to "pop up", which I have now done.  Could you take a few seconds to test this out and let me know if it's working, especially those who have been unable to leave comments in the past?

On Wednesday I'll have 20 draw for a prize.  It won't be this adorable lamb who I know just totally loved me and wanted to come home with me yesterday, but her momma said NO!  Along with that badger faced lambie from Instagram who has a mom and a sister who both said NO!

How about a Punkin's Patch tote bag?

When they fall so sound asleep that their heads fall back/over/down...  Just nothing sweeter than holding a baby lamb :-).

Ooh.. so sorry he couldn't go home with you...

thecrazysheeplady said...

WHAT?!? Should NOT be any verification thing :-o. Who else is seeing that?

thecrazysheeplady said...

Okay, if you see the robot thing, ignore it and just hit publish. Don't know why that works (at least for me), but it does.

I've never had any trouble with commenting - yesterday I didn't shut up! :)

So great to be able to make comments! I love your blog. Went back and read it from the beginning.

Tried using my tablet but google wanted me to sign in and take a HOW MANY MOUNTAINS DO YOU SEE test, plus promise I wasn't a robot. And then said I didn't know my password... so not your blogs fault! Laptop: test 2...

I've personally never had trouble in the past. Hopefully all is working better for everyone now. If I win, tell 20 that I'd happily take either a tote bag or a lamb!

Love the coloration! Looks like my Cotswold babies. Those silver grays are so shiny. Would love to hug on that one.

What a pretty little lamby!

OMG! I CAN POST A COMMENT!!!! I am so happy! Not as happy as I would be should I be holding that darling lamb and taking it home, but happy nonetheless!

Such a Precious Lambie!!

Lori Skoog said...

You have always gotten my comments...right? Love the lambie.

Sure hoping this works. It's been ages since I've been allowed to post a comment. And should 20 happen to choose my name, you can tell him I'd really love to have a lambie. But, a tote bag to take to the Woodstock Fleece Festival this October would be great advertising for Equinox Farm - if I can keep it away from my daughter and granddaughter!

Bless all the lambs and the mommas and the shepherds too!

Such a sweet picture. Makes me want to quit my job and raise sheep!

I don't recall ever having a problem commenting here, but I would love a tote bag! And I have NEVER had a Shetland lamb fall asleep like that, no matter how much they love me. Too much alertness in the primitive breed, I'm guessing. ;-)

Cheryl West said...

I had no problems in the past. You have a wealth of sweet lambies this year and hope you can bring home at least one.

Maggie said...

Got to hold a sleeping lamb for the first time this spring! Simply precious! Thanks for sharing.

Comment section now looks totally different... Hope you see more :-)
That is the sweetest little lamb. Maybe you can "follow" him for us... Maybe. Beautiful coloring.

Never got a problem to post a comment here in the past but testing if this works... that is the sleeping beauty story for lambs ;) love the pictures.

I keep waiting and waiting to see just who will go home with you...
...not that you are a creature of habit or anything like that.

love your blog, so glad you got the comments up and running. your sheep are delightful and your love for them shine through.

I never had a problem before, now a "blogger" box pops up to put the comment in. The problem I have noticed for the last week is that I don't get the current days post, they arrive the next day. All the lambs are so cute! Oops just noticed the "I'm not a robot" box.

kathy dahn said...

And it posted without checking the "robot" box.

I love this blog above all others! I forward to my daughter in California and she shares with her colleagues. It's just grand.

You work incredibly hard and it's so appreciated.

I'll be delighted to comment on every post if this works for me now! It may not be just your adjustment that help me post for I've also acquired a second email address to use for situations like this.

Truly your blog posts are a joy to read and the lamb photos videos this spring have been extra special.

Is lamb breath as good as puppy breath? Love your photos and I appreciate you taking time from your busy schedule on the farm to include those of us not privileged to care for such wonderful creatures.

Hello Sarah - I hope this works as I've wanted to leave comments forever. Really enjoy your blog and your comedic comments - always good for a laugh. Also love your sheep and the beautiful projects you make from their wool. Thanks for giving us our sheep fix.

Howdy!

Haven't written in awhile so haven't noticed any issues.

Loved the videos, especially when the newborn lamb made just the tiniest of those special baby baas to his/her mom. That's the part I miss the most about not having sheep any more...

Precious lamb, great pics as always.

It is working! Good for you. When I try to read those directions about anything technical....😭

Never had trouble leaving comments- but I must say I like the pop up option best, as it allows you to comment on another post without having to scroll down to the "newer post" or "older post" buttons.
Maybe pass on to your commenters that you can totally ignore the "Prove You are Not a Robot captcha and comment anyway.

Shirley said...

Oops- I see you already did that- duh!

Don't leave a comment usually, but will help with test. And I love bags! Love reading about your sheep since I have none of my own, sadly.

I don't post often, but thought this would be a great opportunity since you are checking to see if all is well in your comment blog. This lamb season has really been so much fun. Especially for me as I live in Carlsbad, Ca in an urban setting. Just love the little lambs and their Moms and all the happiness at your farm.

Delrene said...

I will check back later to see if my comment posted. Sweet lambs.

Let's see if this works.....all of a sudden your website is taking forever to load and hard to scroll down....NEVER had that problem before.....

Yay!!! I can comment! Now I have don't have to keep it all bottled up - That wee lamb is so sweet, my teeth are hurting. Could have something to do with this chocolate Easter bunny beside me too...
Thank-you so much for fixing this, I am so happy to be here.

Oh my gosh, that lamb is so unutterably cute! I love the way he was looking into your eyes, until he started counting- sheep?

I'm not having a problem with posting comments, but for the past month, my server/ISP has been evil and has delayed transmitting your blog posting until the day after the posting. I especially dislike this when it delays adorable lamb photos (and as I have yet to see a lamb that isn't adorable, this is maddening! (My cell phone carrier, however, transmits on time. So I get to see those adorable lamb photos twice 😃)

Surely some ewe will let her adopt one of her babies? Gosh, there have been so many splendid candidates this year.

i don't post often, so haven't had a problem until recently. now when i click on your posts, either from my email or on the web, the site comes up and scrolls in fits and starts, as SUSAN M. mentions above, and typing this comment has been a little like that. i type a section or a sentence or two, and then it freezes for a second or two and goes on. this started two or three weeks ago, when you first posted about having trouble with your site and trying to fix it. it's only your site that it happens on. it's only a minor inconvenience, as i loves me some lambies and farm stuff to read about, but something definitely changed about three weeks ago. and for those keeping score at home, i just tried to post this and it wouldn't let me ignore the captcha/robot thingie. --suz in NE ohio (used to live/work in cincinnati, so your beautiful farm area is familiar to me)

I think I like the "pop up" format better than the "embedded" comment view because I can still scroll the blog up or down at the same time the comments are open to read or add to. I, too look at the blog almost every day, but seldom comment.

Laurie in Maine - GOOD GRIEF!!!

Patti - lamb breath is Much Better than puppy breath :-D

Diane - the baby baa on the video is the very best part ever. I've gone back and watched it a couple times now. He is one of the bouncing lambs on yesterday's Instagram video :-).
