How To Shear A Sheep Blindfolded

Somehow the subject of shearing sheep blindfolded came up Sunday.  I didn't believe it could be done.  Bill swore he did it all the time at fiber festivals.

"I don't believe you."

"Yeah, I do!  Half the crowd is all for it and the other half is No, no, don't do it!"

Shaking my head.

"You just haven't been paying attention."

"Bill..."

"Here, you don't believe me?  I'll shear this next one blindfolded."

The next sheep up was Burrnie.  I know Bill well enough to know he wouldn't hurt a sheep.  He has been shearing for a long time.   Maybe it is mostly by feel?  And there are no, um, pointy parts on Burrnie, whose shape can best be described as "round".  I decided to let him show me up.

And he did.

Want to see him shear a sheep blindfolded?  (scroll down)

Phew, that had me worried for a minute! Burrnie seems happy enough not to see what Bill was doing so he must trust him implicitly! Thanks for this cute post. Have a great day. Jo

Very good! I really did not expect Burnie to be the one blindfolded. Maybe it was calming. What a good sport!

So how did Burrnie feel about this? Bless his heart. I hope you contributed to his roundness afterwards by giving him some cookies. As for Bill- how ever did he keep a straight face while telling you this?

See, now I am the opposite, I assumed he meant blindfold the sheep, and since you said a few were feeling fractious, I thought that made sense! :D

I fell for it too. Too funny! Maybe all the sheep should get a blindfold. You could put those sleep masks on them. ;-)
