Having dinner with a shepherd friend last night, the weather of course came up. We are long past complaining about just the relentless heat or just the relentless humidity. The summer. In its entirety. Has just been. Relentless. And there's still no break in sight.
"No break in sight?"

I do wish I could order better weather for you. It stays hot and dry here in CT as well. I am watching the early rounds of swimming in Rio. Would the sheep like an Olympic sized pool to cool off?
Nah, but I love my little pool! Wool is actually a better insulator from heat if it's not wet. Still, some cooler weather would sure be nice :-o.
Its been hot and humid eh? I d shave the dog
Hank says thanks, but no thanks, lady! ;-) I've got him plucked down to that fluff on the bottom and the weird tufts on his hips. He's actually doing well with the heat, but he and I both love cold weather so we are trying to hold on.
A cool breeze would feel nice. You can order almost anything on the Internet. Does UPS deliver?
geeze, they grew that much wool already?? Looked like you never did shear them. Poor things, poor you!
I keep telling myself we are almost to the middle of August -- surely cooler times are inevitable....... Yesterday was actually pretty nice here. Hoping for the same for you all!
At least humans can go into air conditioning. Poor sheep- I wish they could too. Does Kentucky cool down appreciably in September, I hope?
Can we swap weather for a while? Over here it's been unseasonably wet and cold all summer. I'm still wearing a fleece, for crying out loud! I'll try to send you some rain...
I'm with you, summer is my least favorite time. I can hardly wait for the weather to cool off and then the snow to come....
September can still be pretty hot, but at least usually the nights cool down.
I'd take you up on that!
