The Other Neighbor Kid

Another shot from up the lane.

"Ethel?  What are you doing down there?"

Going on 13 years ago now when I painted my first Equinox Farm Christmas card we didn't have quite so many "characters".  There were several new ones though and I thought a card introducing them would be fun.  I'd put a diagram on the back with everyone's names and thought that would be the end of that.

Of course, as I formatted the back diagram, I ended up with four names on one side and three on the other...and that's just wrong (:-o)...so I quickly added in a cardinal and named him "Some neighbor kid".  He ended up being the star of the card and every year since then he's been included somehow.

So, speaking of Christmas cards, does anyone have a great idea for what everyone could be doing this year?  I'm drawing a blank and thinking we've covered pretty much all the wintertime activities.

  1. How do the sheep feel about Pokemon Go in the snow or are they too young to have their own cell phones? :-)

  2. Have you ever done one where all the "characters" are in the house..... maybe sitting around a big table eating Christmas dinner?

    1. That's brilliant! Probably not in the house because then the horses...couldn't/shouldn't be in there, but they could be eating around a "table" outside with Cheerios and nilla wafers and saltines and home grown hay and carrots and apples and we could have a kids table and...what on earth would Maisie be doing...

  3. How about the whole group of them, wearing handknit (of course) scarves & mittens & toques, all going out carroling?

    1. We did caroling sort of, year three I think. Of course, if they went out caroling around the neighborhood, someone could get confused and dress up for Halloween...oh where is Graham when you need him :-o.

  13. I'm guessing Bullwinkle won't be getting a Red Ryder BB gun because he could put somebody's eye out. Maybe watching A Charlie Brown Christmas on TV?

  15. Bullwinkle driving the Unit, with passengers. I assume its tires will go in the snow.

But if you use this suggestion, please don't let Bullwinkle see it. That might give him Ideas.

  22. Love the snow angels idea - different animal shapes - and somehow getting BWs new vehicle in there. How about an Iditarod theme one year? With Hank as lead dog, of course. Oh, my, I could start a whole story about this one - Maisie digging in her heels, lots of snacking the 'dogs', the Aurora Borealis. Off to daydream about cooler days ...
