The 2014 Christmas Eve "After Party"

I loved reading all the comments about the Christmas Eve cookie party the other night.  I'm glad everyone enjoyed it as much as the sheep did :-).  And yes, to all the Baaxter comments!  My favorite comment though was probably "I just love how tall and polite Ewen is."

I love all of my sheep. Very much. Some however are extra special. Ewen is one of those sheep.  I can't really explain why.  He was a bottle lamb, but many here were.  He was a bit odd as a lamb, but many here were are ;-).  He loves his mom very much, but I think most here do (those silly Jacobs probably do like me even if they act like they don't ;-).

I took about nine minutes of video the other night.  I edited out the last half and just posted the actual cookie party thinking no one would really be interested in a few more minutes of just back scratches and silly talking.  However, there are some funny parts in that last half and Hank yelling at some coyotes out back.  In case you're interested...  It starts with Ewen McTeagle :-).

All that scritching to do and only two hands!!! All the sheep seemed to wait patiently for their turn at love pats.
Hank sure has his work cut out for him!!! Thank God for his watchfulness! He has an awesome bark!

Witnessing the love between you and your family of sheep was a wonderful way to start my morning. Actually, reading your blog and seeing your artful photos and videos are something I look forward to every day. They very often make me smile and sometimes make me cry. I appreciate the insights into your life at Equinox Farm. Thank you very much for sharing;)

Thanks for The Party, Part 2. I loved it. I'm glad Maisie got over her sulking and came over for some scritches. And I think it's hilarious that Baaxter is never far from your knee. Sometimes it seems as if he's been sewn right to your jeans.

That was great! Even better than Part 1 cause it was neat to see them hang out with you even when the cookies are gone. Obviously sheeps love their scritches. Love the nose touches too. Very cool.

Cookies AND petting - that's some sweet kind of deal for sheepies. And all they have to do is grow fleece and be good. ;-)

Oh I can tell how much you love and enjoy your wooly friends! I can not understand why they are not pushing each other around to get to you and then pushing you too. Amazing. I really enjoyed the video.

I am going to start calling you "mother superior" or "superior mother." Which would you prefer?

Very nice to hear your voice Sara! Seeing you surrounded by a sea of sheep reminds me just how small our Shetlands are.
