The Year Of The Horse - Part Two

Remember this project?  They're finally finished!  Tim had Claire at Clever with Leather make me a pair of custom chaps :-).

While I picked my colors mostly as a tribute to Handy, the big red horse of my heart, there's a bit more to it.

The main color matches Handy.  The fringe has white mixed in just like his gorgeous tail.

The tail hair weaving worked perfectly!

The silver western style buckle is in memory of Aria.

The brown piping is for Hickory.

I love them!

And the chaps, too ;-).

Yay – a horse post! And yet more proof that Tim is Saint. Plus, I can't believe that a fellow camera-shy photog let someone photograph her, um, RUMP!

They are beautiful, love the horsehair braid inset, now you need a western saddle to go with them. Saint Tim is well named.

Beautiful! I love how each part represents a horse special to you. Could you tell me what color you would say Aria was? Sorry, I'm not an experienced horse person but she was so beautiful. Handy is super handsome!

Thanks for taking us through all the details, so we "got" all the important details.

I love the way you not only cream the best off the top of every day, but remember the cream of your yesterdays in such a thoughtful and detailed fashion.

You set a good example. :-)

Gorgeous chaps! Beautiful leather, and wonderful attention to detail. I especially like the horsehair weaving and that each part is a tribute to one of your horses.

Oh Bad Michelle :)
The horsehair weaving and the placement is spectacular. You did such a good job and the chaps will be the envy of everyone who sees them!! Will foreward this on to my sister (of 13 horses......) who does weave on occasion when not haying/planting/horse camping etc

Love the chaps! What a nice tribute they are to your horses.

I do have a western saddle :-). Those are "English" chaps though, not that it really matters.

Aria was a bay, a little darker than a blood bay, but not a black bay like you frequently see with thoroughbreds...

Thanks for all the lovely comments :-). They are a once in a lifetime gift and I love how everyone appreciates the sentiment behind them.
