The Playground

A favorite toy for all sheep, young and old, is the utility trailer. I'll have to go back and see if I posted a video of Baaxter jumping around on it when he was really little. He figured out how to jump on and jump off and jump on and jump around and jump off...when he was quite young.

Baaxter is happy to share the trailer with his new friends.  Or at least two of his new friends.

This guy has yet to make it up on the rocket ship.

"They said they're flying off to the moon without me!"

"What do you mean you're going to go back in time?"

"Yeah, we just need to make some modifications first."

"Um, can't we just jump around?"

We've been watching the white faced lamb for a couple of days and have no idea why he can't figure out how to get up there.  We toyed with helping him up there once so he'd get the idea, but decided to wait and just watch.  Of course, if it'd had been Baaxter, I'd probably have helicopter parented myself right over to give him a boost ;-).

The sheep look like rock stars on a stage to me...... getting ready to sing, "Fly me to the moon, and let me play among the stars...."

OMW This is the most fascinating thing on farmyard animals I have ever seen! What a funny thing! I love your comment about your reaction to Baaxter. He really is your "baby". Great post!

Lambs are so much fun to watch at play. Great photos and love the captions that you added.

Baaaxter looks like he is doing well with his new brothers. Is it real hot down there, and muggy?

I don't think I could stand it - I'd be boosting him up there, bad parenting or not. What fine, healthy, beautiful sheep they are! And how nice for Baaxter to have brothers - it will make the barn living transition so much easier.

Another fun post and photos--I guess we aren't all meant to be on the stage...Or trailer in white faced lambs case! :-)

Reread the post..... Nothin like a bragging preschool mom talking about her little Baaxters natural agility abilities. Does he take after his mom or his dad? LOL
you could do comedy from that trailer :-)

Maybe he is just pretending and wants his foot firm on mother earth than some unknown rocket....

Perhaps he remembers that the last time he was in/on a trailer, he was whisked away- and doesn't want to be whisked away from his new home where life is so good!

The White Faced Guy is pretty cute too. Does he have a name?

Looking at the poor lamb that can't figure out how to jump up on the trailer reminds me of the time a friend trailered my sheep to a show. When it was time to go home, she did what she normally did - set up panels that led to the trailer and opened the pen gates. My sheep were at the front of the mob running to the trailer but came to a screeching halt because they couldn't figure out how to jump up into the trailer without help. Too funny.
