But just darn near as cute! Pet photos with Santa, benefiting the Scott County Humane Society in neighboring Georgetown, Kentucky.
Stella and I counted back and this was our seventh year to take a sheep or two to town. First we took Henrietta, then Popcorn PeePee Pants, then Woolliam, then Keebler and Graham Lamb and now B. Willard and 20.
And nothing strikes fear in the Humane Society volunteers like thinking you are bringing in 20 sheep rather than a sheep named 20 :-D.
Here's our "how they did it".
First you've got to sign in.
Then you've got to fix your scarf. And it's true - sheep really don't seem to mind dressing up. As long as it's not. pants.
Then some last minute instruction about what is expected...from us and all the sheep back home. "Stand nice and don't forget to tell Santa what everyone wants for Christmas."
"Mostly I wish I didn't have to do this silly stuff..."
Willard did a great job. He had actually never been inside a building before, but happily walked right in, didn't have a single accident on the floor, only stepped on Santa's foot one time, let everyone pet him and take his picture, wasn't bothered by the dogs, jumped back into the car and munched on some hay. I'd say he's on the "Nice" list for sure.
Don't forget to add your local animal shelter or humane society to your list this season. Every little bit helps.

B. Willard deserves an extra helping of ‘nilla wafers for being such a good sport. Looks like you made the right choices to take to visit Santa as 20 is always such a willing sheep when it comes to photo ops :-D
Is there a story behind the scarf?
You are so AWESOME Sara! The way you get out and promote your sheep (and sheep in general!) is inspiring. I can't believe how well behaved B. Willard was! Dream pooped all over the newsroom floor when I took her to be on the noon news program...
What a wonderful story, and Willard looked so good! Thanks for the reminder, I'll send our local Humane Society a little check, too.
OMG! I bet Santa's still talking about that.
So very cute and cooperative. Our humane society has the same thing going on, but Millie (dog) would have a stress heart attack from all the strangers and Rusty (dog) needs a bath so we didn't go this year. Good idea to plan for next season.
Willard did great, but isn't 20 too old to be sitting on Santa's lap? Just shameless I'd say ...... :)
20 looks almost as big as Santa, Willard looks handsome in his santa hat and scarf.
LOL! Thats great!!!
I wonder just what he asked Santa for...
B. Willard, you are ALWAYS good! What a cutie you are. I'm not saying I have favorites, but...
We did Santa Paws this year, too -- but with my sheep dog (Sheltie).
What a fun series of pictures. Willard was a champ, and what a great Santa to take it in stride.
Your the only person I know who takes her sheep to see Santa. lol
Very well done!
Linda

How the heck did I miss this post? I darn near peed my pants when you got to the part about 20 sheep not a sheep named 20. OMG.
