I'm Dreaming Of A Warm Christmas

Nope, doesn't quite have the same ring to it. What odd weather this year.

We had a nice Christmas. It wasn't the most fun Christmas, but nice in it's own way. We lost Wiwi, our 20 year old "inside" kitty, on Christmas Eve. It was time. She and I were both sad about it, but it was a good gift to both of us to be together.

Christmas Day dawned just as warm and sunny and after church Saint Tim went fishing and I puttered around for awhile and decided a walk out with the sheep would be the best medicine. The late afternoon sun was beautiful.

Handsome Hank cleaned up this Christmas. I loved opening the mailbox and finding boxes addressed specifically to him. He got a really neat guard dog book, The Guardian Team: on the job with Rean and Roo, by Cat Urbigkit, and a good collection of dog cookies. He was thrilled and woofs a big Thank You!

Popcorn PeePee Pants...and her shadow.

Willard and Renny. Willard's feeling just fine now, but is so addicted to Graham Crackers (the reward for being a big boy about getting his shots every day) that you just about can't live with him anymore ;-).

I can't decide if Renny has short legs or long wool.

You can't beat walking around in a sweater, no hat or gloves, sitting on the ground taking pictures on Christmas Day....but some snow would sure have been pretty ;-).

We hope everyone had a peaceful and joyful holiday!

Sara...sorry to read about the loss of Wiwi ono Christmas Eve. 20! Amazing.

We don't have snow either...different for sure. Just coasting now that Christmas is over. What we really need to do is work off some of the goodies.

Your farm and critters look beautiful in the soft winter light. The sheep and Hank seem pretty pleased with the weather.

We wish you all a healthy and happy new year!

I'm so sorry about your kitty Wiwi. I know that being there for her was good, but it is hard, nonetheless. We had flurries during Christmas morning...romantic. I agree that it was a nice holiday...but just okay, as well.

I'm so sorry about the loss of Wiwi. We had our first cat for almost 20 years too--A good long life that is so intertwined with our own after all that time....

It sounds like that although you didn't find the white Christmas, you did find the 'All is Calm' part to enjoy, and your pictures show that!

I'm sorry to hear about Wiwi. 20 years is a long time for a cat to take care of you. Maybe she knew Betsy could take over and decided it was time for her to retire.

Condolences on losing Wiwi. There's never a good time, but at least you were with her. You know she'll be waiting........

Wow, to graze on Christmas! Lucky sheepies. And Hank is SO handsome. I'm glad your day was peaceful.

Here comes 2012, ready or not!

May your mind and heart store the myriad of memories you made together. Her distinctive meow when you entered the house will linger for sure. How providential that you were home for this holiday.
Christmas gives us pause to count our blessings and I the peaceful pictures of your farm family illustrate that perfectly.
Peace and joy to you and yours in the new year!

I'll take the warmth. It's warm here too but not as nice as you have it. I'm sad about Wiwi.

Sorry to hear about losing your kitty, kind of a blessing for her to go on such a special evening.
I noticed you still have leaves on your trees, well if you can't have snow for Christmas at least you have beauty to look at.

So sorry to hear about your kitty. Being a cat-person myself, I've never had one live past 15 (usually 12). Thank you for visiting my blog, your comment meant a lot to me. I will definitely take your advice and locate a sweater for "20". We wear the same size. Happy New Year!

Stunning photos. The first, of Hank, looks like an oil painting (in a good way!) Gorgeous.

Sorry about losing Wiwi but it sounds like a dignified way, and time, to go.

We had PLENTY of snow here - wish I could send a bit your way!

Happy Holidays.
