Counting Down The Days

Actually, I'm trying not to think about it. ARGH!!!

The 2012 calendar has finally gone to print. I thought after last year's learning curve that this year's calendar would be a snap. I am obviously a Slow Learner. Always something new to learn...which is usually sort of fun...but not in the middle of the end of the year, Christmas rush :-o.

We picked some of our favorite photographs and once again added in some fun dates like popular fiber festivals, St. Drogo's (the patron saint of shepherds) Day, Hug a Sheep Day...

There is, of course, a healthy dose of Lila.

And Renny

Newcomer Betsy

And lots of tiny pictures.

Note to self: when you are taking a pictures of something awesomely sweet like Hank cleaning Marcel's ears, TURN THE CAMERA LANDSCAPE! Pictures need to be short and wide (landscape), not tall and skinny (portrait). I cropped this one down to fit...in a tiny box. Sigh.

In case anyone's interested, I will put a few of these for sale in my Etsy shop. By the way, I've done quite a bit of Christmas shopping on Etsy this year. If you aren't familiar with Etsy's vintage and handmade marketplace, definitely check it out. Shop local...anywhere!

In the meantime, just for fun, leave a comment and tell us all how ready for Christmas you are and on Friday I'll random.org a winner and send you a 2012 calendar. Maybe you'll need it to help you get more organized for next year...maybe you don't. Let us know ;-).

I'm going to say I'm about half way there. Only because I'm keeping my brothers cats which prevents any sort of decorating whatsoever. They are leaving tomorrow then the mad rush will be on. Most gifts are purchased or getting finishing touches made.

My whole year has been Christmas with a trip to Wyoming for my Niece's wedding in June, My only child's wedding in August and the consequent visit of my 'exchange son' from Germany and friends! So, I guess you can say I'm all ready! I will be sending an Equinox farm calendar to Germany and maybe to my photo bug cousin in Beijing as well. Calendars are a fun gift for my international friends and family as they bring memories to life all year long.

I'm just about done...I have one Christmas present left for the big people and the cabbages for the chickens (which I'll get last). I'm putting together the Christmas Treasue/Mystery Hunt today and will add prizes sometime this week. I am also making gluten free cookies for my Granddaughter so she can have something to eat at school.

Busy time, but I love it.

When I was the president of the Golden Ret. rescue, one of my tasks was the calendar. I know the challenges it can have, but in the end, as you know, it's all worth it, and that's what I always told myself to keep from throwing it out the window and deciding that the rescue didn't need one!! :-)

I am so NOT ready for Christmas. But I would love an Equinox Farm calendar. Please, please put my name in the hat. Thank you!

So many beautiful photos and only 12 months in the year!! However do you decide? I’m glad that you fill the empty days with photos as well.... then the day is really not so empty.
I would love to added to your drawing.

My little tree with the handmade ornaments is up. That is it so far. No shopping yet, just thinking ;-)

Giftwise, I'm a little less than half done. One pair of mittens done, one pair still on the needles, and two more to go.

No decorating or anything else done yet.

I have almost all the gift purchasing done, it's the mailing I'm procrastinating on: finding boxes, wrapping stuff, writing cards, that part I absolutely hate. Being a Brit in the US I got used to starting Christmas shopping in September to meet the US to UK sea mail date. The sea mail is long gone (all airmail now and twice the price) but the habit remains.

Christmas presents almost done. Decorating....not so much. AND...I never have enough calendars! Put my name in the hat :-)

Beautiful calendar! I'm just getting into action now for Christmas...online shopping is a godsend. I have a small family to buy for so have it easy. Lot's of ideas so this year shouldn't be too much trouble -I'm going to try to do homemade for those hard to buy for people.

And wow I didn't know about Hug a Sheep day.

I have moments when I feel ready for Christmas and then I have moments of panic because I am no where close ;) I would love an Equinox Farm calendar - love the pictures. Thank you for doing this, especially in the rush!

I've been busy with crochet & sewing & making my soaps, so this has helped. Alot of gifts need to be posted and they should be ready by next week. I adore your calender and would just love to see more of it. I can't manage my days without calenders or a diary!

No tree, no presents, no money. But have an abundance of blessings!
Would love to win a calendar.
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

I have the shopping list done, some partial gifts purchased, cross stitching to do yet. Just waiting for a day off from work to finish up! Would love one of the calendars - thank you for the giveaway!

PS -- Can you believe 12-0? Quite the game this past Sunday!

I suppose about a third ready. Not nearly as ready as I wish I was. I am dabbling at the edge of panic.

And your wool batting, off the backs of the beloved sheep clan???how special is that???

and a spindle kit so I can drive my self spindlily his winter? or should I get another one to drive my oldest daughter spindlily? (is that a word?)

and add me to the drawing, if i win, then I can give the one i bought FOR ME away as a gift lol

Ready for Christmas? HAHAHAHAHA (mad laughter). Not hardly. A few presents done, going to do an online shopping marathon in the next 48 hours and 'real' shopping trip soon. Have thought about decorations, but Calvin the young cat may "help" me decide to just go with a minimally decorated tree and leave the glittery, breakable, fluffy, dangly things for next year. (thanks, Calvin!)
By all means, put me in for an Equinox calendar!

The calendar looks great! City Boy finally put up the outside lights. The tree is waaay in the back of the attic so maybe not this year. Hope to see the full calendar later this month! I'm looking at last year's now. Peaceful.

Chirstmas is when? Uh oh. Nuff said. Can't wait to see the calender.

Ha Ha Sara! Everyone wants one of your beautiful calendars!!!! Up here, we are in slow. Getting Christmas Eve organized, made a vine arch with twinkie lights over the stairway to the kitchen porch, Gary painted a Christmas card and sent it to Saint Tim for printing...bought some cute boxes that look like decorated mail boxes....etc. etc. etc.
No snow yet....but lots of mud.

Your calendar looks awesome! Hey, maybe you could do them in September next year.. have them ready for the wool festival and then your December will be freed up! (not that your list for the wool festival isn't full already)

Christmas? Goodness, I'm in the negative on getting ready. (once i'm caught up on pottery stuff, i'll start thinking Christmas)

Terry said...

Thanks for telling me about your Etsy shop. You know I love Lila.

I am not ready for Christmas at all. The only thing I've done so far is Beauty Shop for the Clyde, who is in the all horse Christmas Parade this weekend.

I'm mostly ready. Presents mostly made, purchased, or pulled out of the "gift drawer." Not much to make or bake, food-wise; having a "heart patient" in the house means foregoing all those home-baked goodies. Would love a calendar!

Ohh lady! You nailed it this time :D
Well balanced calendar and beautiful photos to go with it :)
Try to put up an e-calendar as well. it will be awesome ;)

I don't do much around here for Christmas. We choose to celebrate Jesus Birthday, rather than go all out to decorate and give gifts. Besides, Earl the cat would tear any decorations down anyway.

The Odyssey Farm said...

I'm as ready as I'll ever be! We don't do too much, it's more a celebration of the season with food and family. But the lights and wreaths are up and I'm looking forward to the holiday.

I'm not very ready! 1/3 of the way maybe. I'm trying not to panic, to remain present. I love the parts of your calendar you've shown. Fantastic photos!

Not ready for Christmas one tiny bit. We did get a tree up, but with so much outside drama that needs tending to I haven't done cards and have purchased two gifts. In fact, I don't even have a list organized or a direction to go in. Feeling more overwhelmed than joyous.

Karen M said...

Ummmm... we were about half way there but then we confiscated a present for a birthday party and used a couple of things for a welcome package for a visiting family member. Now we're at about 25% of the way there and headed in the wrong direction. I did buy a gift certificate for my dad (he loves hot dogs) yesterday while we were at lunch- maybe we're back up to 33% or so... Help!

I am SO not ready! I always wait until the last minute, lol.

Not Nearly Ready. To cope with my long list I am further procrastinating by reading my favorite blogs.

We're going to put our real tree up tonight and that should finish our decorating. We picked it out the day after Thanksgiving, but it's been in a bucket of water in the garage since!

Love the calendar and style. Do you design it yourself or use one of the online places? If you use one of the online ones, which one do you use?
