The Graham Effect

Ah, what an idyllic life. Spending an afternoon sitting out in a lush green field, listening to the birds call, watching the beautiful horses grazing up on the hillside, a big white guardian dog napping next to you as you enjoy visiting with some of your best friends...

"Hey there, Rebecca Boone, love the new 'do! Petunia, how are ya, chubby cheeks? Do you need some face scratching? Ewen McTeagle, my big baby, you got any new poems for me? Look how fast your hair's growing back, Keebs. Those are some pretty white curls you got going on there. GRAHAM LAMB!!!!! PUT THAT DOWN!!!!!"

Is that slobber or sheep breath fogging up my favorite lens?

"Oh, geez louise, Graham!"

Like the trail of destruction that follows him everywhere he goes wasn't enough, he had to leave a pee trail as well?!?

"Hey Graham!"

"What."

"Whatcha' eatin'?"

"Nothing."

"Isn't that pretty spiky?"

"Yeah, maybe."

"You should spit that out."

"I will if I want to."

Um, okay then.

Graham Lamb. Keeping it real.

You know he just does that stuff to make everyone else look good. He's such a giving boy! (Sorry about the tinkle on the jeans. I guess that means he's very relaxed around you!)

Are they photo's from THIS afternoon, Wednesday? wow, it has been cold, foggy, and rainy all day here in the NC Appalachians. We've got a light snow predicted for Saturday.

We've had Franklin for three years and believe me when I tell you that he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. He was full size when he was given to us, he and his brothers were getting ready to go to "market."

Franklin loves to play "touch the tail." I lean over and grab the end of his tail feathers, and he jumps back, then he comes right back and sees if he can jump back before I grab his tail again, he'd play that game all day if I'd keep it up. He just gobbles/laughs when I am too quick for him.

I can't begin to describe the emotion that swells up in me when I think about that boy, he's such a joy in our lives.

I think Graham has marked your leg as his territory for the next time he wants to come and snuggle. The other leg is for Keebler.
Good for you getting a well deserved rest!

I too love getting to know my animals. To learn thier approach to life and to each other. Anyone who says animals are dumb are the stupid ones!
