A New Angel Among Us*

Boo is gone. We knew it was coming last night and were with him. And it was odd. Like it always is. We left him on his porch bed so everyone could see him and Saint Tim buried him in the orchard this morning.

Comby was nowhere around last night when I turned the porch light off. He's never missed a night in his condo. This morning he followed us out to the grave site, walked around it and then stood for awhile looking at Boo and then after he finally walked away, Tim covered Boo up.

I normally wouldn't tell all the sad details, but more than a few of us have been intrigued by the Boo and Comby friendship. And while the "scientists" may say animals don't understand or have feelings, we all know different. Comby knew. Iris knew. Weaslie chewed on a stick.

You were a good dog Boo. Saint Tim said that you were one of the few dogs to actually "go to a nice farm in the country". We know you enjoyed your time with us.

So very sad to hear that Boo passed, although I'm glad for all of you that he was with you. Boo was such a beautiful boy. For those who say animals don't grieve....well they are foolish. When Jody my sable/white girl passed, the cats (all of them) were so lost. They loved her to distraction (hers) and were a lost little bunch when she died. Take care of yourselves. My heart goes out to you all. I hope that Coomby and the others will do okay.

Sorry about your loss of your beautiful lovable collie dog. I can tell he will be sadly missed by both man and beast.

Oh I am so sorry about your beloved Boo! My Daisy had a wonderful friendship with my Little Billie~ shnauzer. We miss her still. But Daisy is glad for a little more room on the couch with me now. I don't think she'd adapt to a new dog.

I hope it comforts you to think of Boo in a warmer place where the grass is always green, and there are lots of sheep to herd!

What a sweet relationship they had. I'm so sad to hear that it has ended. Peace to you all.

I know he feels your love following him wherever he goes now. I always tend to think that one little soul leaves us to make room for another one that needs us more.

Thanks you for telliing us about Boo and posting the beautiful photos of him and his kitty.

Since I still feel acutely the loss of my beloved bully over a year ago, I know how you feel, and my heart breaks with yours. May his animals friends not fall ill in their mourning.

Boo was a very noble, sweet dog and I can imagine him making friends and reconnecting with our other dog angels. I'm so glad I got to meet and get to know him last fall. His life has given us all joy, and I think he knew he was very loved.

I'm saddened by your loss. When my beloved Great Dane, Rima, died at 12 years old, Lucy the pig dog, sat in a corner of the porch and cried for almost a month. I cried for a year.
