Santa has been keeping an eye on Frankie all year and since he's been such a good boy, he gave him exactly what he's been wishing for, a friend. Meet Lancelot :-).
Lancelot is a 19 year old Standardbred gelding we've adopted from New Vocation Racehorse Adoption Program, the same organization Frankie came from. Lancelot raced until 2005 and then transitioned into a show horse for several years and is now semi-retired. Frankie is completely smitten.
We got him home late yesterday afternoon and he stayed in the arena last night. I put Frankie in there with him after breakfast and then at noon I moved them both to the front field. After being completely quiet in the arena, I wasn't expecting the show they put on when they hit the big field.
I'd say Lancelot is pretty happy, too :-).
"Are you really real?"
I'm pretty smitten as well :-).
If you'd like to spend a little more time with the two boys, there are two new puzzles :-).

Friends are important. Welcome home Lancelot.
He's wonderful!! He's the big brother Frankie wanted. Emphasis on BIG! I like how Frankie has to hunker down and pour in on a little to keep up with Lance. Merry Christmas!

The sheer joy of grass under your hooves and a new friend❤️
Aw. Welcome home, Lance. :-) Loved watching them run together, with their tails held up like flags in the wind.............
I saw the post on Twitter about how tall Lancelot is and thought, "What!? That's a new horse...when did Sara get a new horse?" Then your latest blog post was in my inbox this morning. Welcome, Lancelot.
Another lucky animal gets a fabulous final home. You and Saint Tim are the best. If I ever win the blasted lotto I'll give you a chunk to help with the feed bills. Enjoy your excellent life for those of us who cant live in the country.
I was waiting for this post! That video made me smile all the way into my heart. A couple of race horses indeed! Life is gooder when you have a bestie to romp around with!
The reason why loneliness kills all living creatures----we all need a buddy! I love that they were just friends right away nothing aggressive at all really interesting. It is great to see too happy guys enjoying themselves. How nice to give Lancelot a great home for his later years!
This is a most wonderful addition to the blog, your farm and your horses YAY!
Bless you for giving me my morning "fix" and indulging my fantasy life where I do all the things you do without having to do all the work. Happy, happy holidays and giving me my daily break from all the horror in our world today. Keep it coming!!!
I smiled for happy and had happy tears for them both. What a wonderful gift to give Frankie and a home for Lancelot. They are the best buddies ever! Who needs tv when you can watch them run and play. Just so wonderful. Christmas Blessings to all 2 and 4 footed.
Yay😍! I’m so glad Frankie has an equine chum. I know you are too.
Shades of brown and white; reminds me of your Biscuit and Muffin “heart”.
How cool! Glad that Frankie had a wonderful friend he can run the fields with. Lancelot is a handsome dude that had landed at a wonderful forever home. Best wishes and Merry Christmas! Carrot Time 🥕🥕🐎🥕🥕

No words. Just happiness for all.
aw! what a big heart you have, welcome to the family Lancelot!!
Such happy news! And one question -- what does semi-retired mean? Will you still show him? Or are you thinking about driving them both (or either) in competition? Curious minds...
Watching the boys running in the field...just made my heart sing!!! Merry Christmas and what a great start to a very Happy New Year!
