Being as this is a Kentucky Fiber Trail sponsored event, I really should title this post something like "Want To Know Where Your Fiber Comes From?", but who would I be kidding...everyone really just wants to come out and snorgle some baby lambs ;-D.
This spring you actually can come out and experience a busy lambing shed and even snorgle a lamb or two if the mommas are agreeable. The Kentucky Fiber Trail has put together a central Kentucky area tour that includes our farm (no lamb...yet ;-), Final Frontier Farm (lots o' lambs), Last Move Farm B&B, feltLOOM and Rebelle Yarn Store.

Don't suppose they will still be lambing mid-April. I'll be driving right by your place to visit my brother in Indianapolis and attend The Fiber Event at Putnam Fairgrounds in Greencastle, IN.

Snorgle what a great word. We have always called it smoozing . I may borrow your term though . Sounds like a great event!
The Progressive Trail Tour sounds wonderful. I hope there will be lots of pictures afterwards for those of us who can’t make it. (If only teleportation were real...I’d be there in a flash. ;-) Snorgle some lambs for me, please.
Hi! I am very curious about the little lamb holder/harness you are carrying the wee one in.....do you use that until the lamb gets its feet under itself?
Really wish I could venture west - a visit on the Trail would be so awesome!
Good question! If the ewe lambs out in the field, which is good unless the weather is terrible, we let her get everyone up and at it and then bring them all into the barn to jug/pen them for a couple days to make sure everyone is in good order. Carrying them in from way out in the field in these lamb slings is easier on both sheep and shepherds as you have to carry lambs way down low to the ground so the ewes will follow them in. As they always say, "Lambs can't fly" ;-). Tring Farm has a golf cart set up that transports them, just off the ground as well.
I was curious....none of the trail event materials list the location of the Saturday 7 AM "Paris Carpool Meet-up" location...…….?

What a great idea! All of us city/suburb types would love to visit and snorgle the lambies...... :-) I bet you'll be mobbed by those who live near enough. :-)
