Lamb Camp

Well, the time has come for the Great American Barnyard Campout. Extra nice because it's nine million degrees. Yeesh :-/.

Once again it is too hot to use the little lamb lot with miniature run in shed, so I kicked the tractor out and set up base camp at the end of the sheep shed. Complete with sort of comfy cot, electric fan (thank you Thomas Edison!) and big sheep (but not dog, cat or chicken) proof lamb creep feeder (the triangle).

Now if I just had a big sheep to put in there with Blossom. Keebs was a bust. Willard was a bust. Mia is now on trial and hasn't punched the baby yet, but she's not so happy to be away from her brother, Blizzard, and the rest of the flock and isn't sitting in here with us. Maybe when the sun hits the side of the barn she'll come around to the shady, fan side. Sigh.

So, sunrise came early. At least it felt like it. Actually, it was a bit of a relief to "have to" get up after darling Blossom found the next morning's baba tucked away on the shelf next to the cot around 2:30 a.m. and proceeded to jump on and off the cot until I finally gave up and gave it to her. That lasted for a couple hours but then the baba 'lympics kicked back in around 5:30...her "normal" baba time. Except there was now no baba...

So she ate some Cheerios.

And crawled back in bed for awhile.

Up with the chickens. How nice :-/. Yawn.

And giving me the cold shoulder as I left to go get my own baba (coffee).

Janbaby and City Boy are here so it would sure be nice if Miss Mia could shoulder some babysitting duties. Cross your fingers!

Camping out and no Smores?? You don't need a campfire - if it's 9 million degrees the chocolate will melt on its own. Looks like fun! I think the whole family should camp with you to get the full effect of farm life. (yeah, right. Right?)

How about Marcel as a baby sitter?

Is Renny to mean?

I’m sure that that early in the morning, no sheep would want to rise to the occasion. I love the wild rumpus with the sleepover. Maybe Lila would like to take care of her cousin for awhile?
Hope you find some time to visit with your company. You must be exhausted with this heat and lack of sleep. Go sit in your pool!

So, count me clueless. Is the purpose of the camp out to get Blossom transitioned to living outside with the herd?

For me it was difficult to make my Molly stay at the stable....after 2 years she still pretend to be a dog and stay in a little place just for her! It's a real problem. I really hope for Blossom everything will be easier! Good transition to both of you!

As much as I love sheep,
this does NOT sound like fun...

I'll keep my fingers crossed that someone befriends her quickly!

What about HANK???

;-)

I hope you're able to find someone to pass the torch to so you can end this lympic event! :-)

That sounds like a wonderful time to me! But then, i live in the suburbs.. (for now.) :) Sounds like the best 'play date' ever.. even though it's not really play. Sheep. are. awesome!

oh this is just too funny, love the pic where she crawled back into bed. I'll bet she would love smores, after the way she is attacking the Cheerios. Remind me to not bottle feed any more lambs or goats, I don't like camping ...........

You crack me up. :) That one's not spoiled at all.

Renny ain't takin' care of no snot nose babies thankyouverymuch!

Hank is great with her and she loves him, so twice today she left the barn to go eat and nap next to him in his "office" on the cool gravel under the utility trailer.

Marcel? Maybe...

Sometimes being a bottle mama is the pits..this is one of those times. Although many of us would love to be in your place..but we would surely cave into the cuteness:)

Is it just me or is Blossom spoiled rotten..;-)

Oh this is adorable... love the pic of Blossom eating Cheerios! I hope she (and you!) adjust okay. I would say Blossom is spoiled (a wonderful thing - I don't consider it bad) but then again so are you; who else gets to sleep with a lamby at their side? What a wonderful life.

You are a better woman than I am. Good luck on the transition.
