The Great American Back [Porch] Camp Out

Lila thought that was the greatest thing ever - even better than her rock pile. She slept on my bed the whole night. She'd get up to get something to eat or drink and right back she'd come. I woke up at one point and she was sleeping with her head on my stomach. This morning she was sleeping in the crook of my arm.

Not sure we made any progress on sleeping out there by herself, but it was pretty sweet.

Oh, now THAT will surely show her what it's like to be a sheep!

;-)

It sounds like a very special night to the shepherdess...

Oh how cute! See, she's not spoiled at. Not even a little bit.

I wish I had been there to take some pictures. Who is the one to get weaned? You are a great Mom to all your animals.

It actually was pretty neat last night. I was on the porch with a ceiling fan blowing on me, but I could still see the stars and hear the horses grazing in the front field and heard some coyotes start up and then hear Hank go after them and hear how far out he went to make his point. At first Lila was pretty hot lying snuggled in next to me, but by morning it was pretty comfy :-). She had a great time.

Yet more proof that Saint Tim is a saint. MY husband would not let me sleep with a sheep instead of him!

Considering how hot it is down there I"m surprised you don't sleep on the porch more often. So you're slowly easing Lila toward the barn........ Is Momma going to sleep in the barn a little bit too at that point?
Poor lonely Saint Tim......

I'm so happy you weren't up all night counting sheep instead of sleeping with one.
Lila is such a people person lamb that it is hard to imagine her in with the flock. Last I saw of her she showed no interest in hanging out with the other sheep. the two of you could end up spending the summer on the porch ;-)

So sweet! I haven't tried sleeping with the chickens yet, but Coop Two is a pretty nice space :)
