Garden Oasis

We are horribly dry here in central Kentucky, so I was surprised the other morning when I snapped a couple garden shots - green!

We did get a little, much appreciated, rain yesterday, but apparently these late summer plants and flowers can get along just fine. Miss Mollie, the scarecrow, is doing just fine as well, although she's been getting about as much spinning done as I have lately. Sigh.

Equally refreshing, Boo and Comby. I just can't get over these two. I hope Boo's trying to impart some advice about getting along with everyone and staying out of trouble.

LOVE the rock borders, especially the first one! I gather at least a 5-gallon bucketful of river rocks when we visit my parents in North Carolina. They live near a place called Micaville where 99% of the rocks are flecked with mica(how clever). One of these days when we're permanently located somewhere, I'll do things with them like your walls.

LOVE also, the last pic. Those two are just adorable. We nursed an old man cat last year, a neighbor's who adopted us in his old age. He died this spring but I find myself looking for him in their yard when I get up in the mornings. I didn't realize I'd still miss him this deeply.

It does look like they are having a conversation.
