Take Me Fishing

City Boy and Janbaby are here :-D. Lila and I joined them for a little boat ride Sunday (yes, I'm way behind on blogging).

This was not Lila's first experience in a boat. She crossed the Ohio River on the ferry last week on our run up to Ohio Valley Natural Fibers. She enjoyed that so much I wasn't a bit surprised to see her smiling on Saint Tim's boat.

I can imagine her water skiing (if I held her ;-) because as far as Lila's concerned, the faster the better! Every time we slowed down she'd look down at the boat trying to figure out why.

More (some awesome knitting, baby bird pictures, sleeping Lila shots, funny story...) later!

Take Me Fishing is an actual organization. Go check them out!

When Your Kids Wind Up In Prison

"I didn't do it. I swear. Look me in the eye and tell me I really deserve to be stuck in the crossbar motel."

"Okay, she ain't buying it. Iris, just relax. I think I can chew our way out."

Or not.

So why was Miss Lila locked away with her kind, loyal, dependable babysitter Iris?

Yep, she found the asparagus bed. And figured out she could outrun me.

Yesterday I was constantly having to say "Lila, I'm over here. Lila, I'm right here. Lila, Lila, I'm right here." Today all I'm saying is "Lila, get back over here!"

They grow up so fast :-(.

"Hey, don't blame me. I'm off duty!"

Good Help

Some of you may know Alice from seeing her in the Punkin's Patch booth at fiber festivals. Many of you know Alice by her always clever (and quick!) blog comments. Let's revisit my personal favorite:

A Hamp/Suffolk crossbred named Ewen
Said, "Sara, what the heck are you doin'?
You know that I pale
When I drink Irish ale.
It's the cookies I'd rather be chewin' !"

She's also become the guardian angel of handspinners this spring, carefully hand picking out way too much VM from our sheep's pretty fleeces.

Lovely, lovely Jester.

We are headed to Ohio Valley Natural Fibers tomorrow and I'm finally not dreading it. Thank you Alice. You have no idea how much I we appreciate all your hard work. There will be nice fiber to stick our hands in at the Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival later this month.

Of course, it's hard not to be overshadowed by a cute baby sleeping in a basket of discarded Boudreaux fuzz (at least it is good for something ;-) while we worked. I tried to cut down the number of pictures I posted this morning, but just couldn't do it. This one is here because of her cute little dished face. And look at her cute widdle baby lips.

Had to leave this in because of her smushed little mouth.

This one shows she still has her cute little wrinkled up nose.

All legs...

Completely cashed out - look at her eye.

Oh, if they could just stay babies forever. Sigh.

Sunday Stills - Sort Of

Some random shots, trying unsuccessfully to keep up. Spring...

Lila, the good baby, sniffing flowers...without eating them.

Why would anyone want to eat pretty flowers? Who would do something like that?

Speaking of pretty flowers, the dogwoods are stunning this spring.

Sunday Stills
this week is rust. An interesting challenge and one I was looking forward to...and just didn't get it done. I took some pictures of the rusting garage roof. Thought the white spirea flowers against the bright blue sky filled with spirea clouds added an interesting element. That was as far as I got. Sorry Ed :-/.

Have had several complaints emails regarding lack of Renny news. Nothing new to report...and Renny and I like it that way :-). In the back, Renny is the black sheep on the right. B. Willard's on the left.

A happy boring life filled with green grass, sheep friends and a couple days where it didn't actually pour rain. Like it is again today.

If you'd like to check out the more responsible Sunday Stillers...
