Now You See It...

...and by afternoon, you don't...

...but don't worry.  They will be back the next morning :-).

I've never grown (or actually even seen) flax before.  It's the blue flowered plant.  Each morning it's covered in the sweetest little blue flowers and by afternoon they've all fallen off and are wilting on the ground below.  The next morning?  Once again covered in sweet blue flowers!

The B Garden is continuing to delight.  Almost every day I walk through and see something new blooming.  Some flowers are familiar from last year.  Some are brand new.  I'm still mostly seeing bees of all shapes and sizes and only a few butterflies and moths.  No monarchs yet, but that's not uncommon...sadly.  The milkweed is abundant and waiting for them!

I remember driving past fields of blue flax when I lived in central Alberta- such a beautiful colour!
I hope your monarchs come soon.

I have bought flax plants in the past. They are such a beautiful blue.

I hope your garden will welcome many bees and butterflies.

Hooray for pollinator gardens! Our yard does well in the fall, with copious wild goldenrod, and not too badly in late summer, with Queen Anne's lace, but the rest of the time, not so much.

I have spread a lot of seed, but with no results. My plan is to try buying some native plants, and seeing if they will grow......

A walk in the garden is my happy place. Next to a walk in the barnyard with the sheep.
I have never seen flax growing either. Such beautiful blue flowers!

Yes Flax is a beauty in the morning and by afternoon she rests:)

Rise early in the morning, then rest in the afternoon. Old saying.

That is the prettiest flower garden! Did you plant species on purpose or buy an industrial size container of mixed seeds? ;-)
