Speaking Of Fossils

This is a pretty good collection!  We find these periodically around the farm. I wish I knew more about fossils.  How old these are, what they are...  I'm guessing mostly plants, but wouldn't it be cool if there was a baby dinosaur mixed in there :-D.  This rock is about 16" x 16".

A test comment lets see if it will post!? Now just FYI I see myself listed below in the google ID so I bet this one works. I need to see if my blog can do this and if me the blogger more importantly can set it up this way!

Wow! Very cool! Now you just need a knitting, spinning, sheep loving paleontologist to look at these photos!

I was at a strip mall in Canada and there was a big rock with a ton of fossils imbedded into it. My mother in law casually pointed it out like it was an everyday thing :)

Fascinating! What a treasure. It's like looking at clouds and imagining what you can see.

Our museum (well, ok, the university's museum) periodically has days when you can bring in stuff and have experts id it for you. Wouldn't it be cool to see what they have to say about your rock(s)? :-)

I, too, have been wondering about the dog you found. I hope she got home ok (and they were worried sick about her).

The dog has been reunited with her owner :-D.

We actually have a spinning, knitting, sheep loving archaeologist in our Ravelry group so I asked her :-D.

Would love to take this to UK and see what they can identify. I did find a good website https://www.uky.edu/KGS/fossils/fossilid.php
