Teefers!

Finally!

And some teefers here too, but they're hard to see.  This is Baaxter on his way to church Sunday.  He's not a big lap snuggler so I knew he wouldn't want to ride on my lap all the way like my other lambs.  We set him up on the floor board of the passenger side and he settled right in, took a big nap and enjoyed the ride.  All lambs are different, just like kids.

Sorry for all the iPhone shots, but that's the beauty of an iPhone - without it, I wouldn't have ANY of these pictures and they are all things I want to remember.  If you look closely at this picture, you can see Baaxter sucking on his tongue.  Sometimes when you can't have a(nother) baba, you just have to do the next best thing ;-).

Baaxter has just been the very best baby ever.  We eat breakfast, go out and play for awhile, come back to the house and he puts himself to bed...if I'm sitting on the porch with him ;-).  Once he's good and asleep though, I can sneak into the house and work in there, sneak out the side door and run to the barn and check water, feed the oldies, hang laundry and then after awhile, usually a good while, I'll hear tap tap tap of his feet and a little sleepy "Mom?" and we have another baba, go out and play, rinse and repeat :-).

He's also been very helpful getting ready for the fiber festival this weekend.  Here he's putting some finishing touches on the drop spindles, making sure I got them sanded well enough.  He loves bouncing around up and down the stone steps, thinks the chickens are quite entertaining, likes to try to climb the tree out front...stays busy and out of trouble.  Unlike some most lambs I know ;-).

Iris has official retired from lamb sitting these days, but she still likes to hang out with us in the yard.  I got up for the middle of the night feeding a couple days ago and found Betsy laying in front of Baaxter's cage.  She can be such a maniac in the house at night, but we've got to give her credit for being sweet to baby lambs.

Poor Baaxter, mostly iPhone nap pictures.  After this weekend I'll have more time for some better at home Lamb Camp pictures.

In the meantime...at least Eli's getting enough rest.

Sorry for this rambling disorganized post.  I've had trouble getting pictures to load into Blogger and am just now finally having some luck.  I've had a couple people email me asking for help with this exact situation recently and as up until this point I hadn't had any experience with it, I didn't have any good advice.  I finally changed browsers this a.m. and that seems to have done the trick.  I'm not sure why and it may just be a coincidence, but you might give it a try if you too are having blogging issues.

The photographer's eye is vastly more important to good pics than are fancy tools..............

:-)

Sometimes when I've had trouble with getting blogger to upload pics, clearing my cookies, logging out, and coming back in seems to help.

Switching browsers would have the same sort of effect (as different browsers don't share cookies; each has its own set).

So I don't know, either, but clearing cookies is another thing to try.

We'll take 'em no matter what camera! He is a very cute lambie, and looks like he was a good boy in church.

What kind of sheep?
He looks so much like one of my Border Leicester Rams, just different ears :)
Love that face.

Always loving your sheep and especially babies!!
I look at other bloggers on Internet explorer, but have found it doesn't work with I load photos and edit my own blog. I'm now using google chrome when I upload my photos and edit my own blog.
BTW- when you go to your Fiber Fest, could you ask around to see if anyone wants to make dog/poodle hair/fur into yarn for a fee??
I have 5 years of Augie fur and would love to have it made into yarn. Thank you much!!

Will do! There are people that do spin dog hair. You might ask Diane at http://www.oasisfarmfibermill.com/ if she can help. I know she has some beautiful specialty blends.

I love your blog. I love your lambs. I would love to have my own lamb/alpaca camp(working on it).
Baaxter looks like one sweet lambie!

Having all the different personalities just makes it more interesting!

For Tree Hugger - Suzan, the woman at the the Countryside Reflections blog has a pet fur spinning business. Here's her website. (Hope this is ok to post here!) http://www.customdoghairspinning.com/index.html

Eli definitely says it all. Spring has come and all is well. What a beautiful blog post. Sweet little lambs and retired dogs, green grass and you with your babies.
How much better can it get? Enjoy the sweetness of it all.

p.s Do I understand right? You take your baby lambs to church with you?

When they are baby babies, I keep them with me all the time, just like they'd be with their mom. Being a bottle lamb is stressful and I try to keep the stress as low as possible. I am the piano player at church, so it's hard for me to skip a couple Sundays, so everyone goes at least once - sort of a "baptism" :-). The good ones come back a couple times and the naughty ones have to stay home the next Sunday. Let's see, Lila - good, Blossom - good, Keebler - bad, Maisie - bad. Baaxter was good, but he'll miss this Sunday because we'll be at the Fiber Festival We'll see how he feels about going back the following Sunday. Everyone loves to see the lambs. Old country church.

Great teefers pic, bit clearly it is hard to get a bad photo of Baaxter. I've been taking our bottle lamb, Tobermory to work with me on occasion which has been great fun for everyone there. He likes to snuggle on my lap during conference calls. :)

So glad that Baxter is an easy lambie. Very sweet.

You are the lambie mother of all years ever. These photos of the baby(ies) lower my stress level considerably and I love sending them to my friends who might be sad or troubled: it helps.

I want to go to your church!

I do home health physical therapy and my bottle lambs and goats ride with me. They wear diapers and the patients love them. Baxter is too cuts--easy to love that little face. --Renee At Oak Grove Animal Sanctuary.

Good tip ineedorange! Makes sense.

Looks like you drop spindles could also be marketed as teething sticks for baby lambs! Nice to know that Baaxter is putting his seal of approval on them ;-)
Hmmmm... does that cost extra?!

I tend to have an iphone on me always but not my big camera, extremely convenient! Love the baby teeth :)
