What says summer to you?
Most of what says summer to me is not fit for a "family" blog, but one thing I do like about summer is hearing the hummingbirds buzz in and watching them work the flowers around the porch.

I have this very same purple butter fly bush! I thought it was red at the time I bought it, but I love it still. Did you use a tripod??? Amazing the clarity - adorable hummingbird!
Wonderful hummingbird pictures. They're so fast I always admire when someone get clear pictures of them. We don't have them around here unfortunately.

Beautiful shots! I too have a similar butterfly bush, must be a popular color. Hummer's definitely remind me of summer, they head south for most of other seasons.

Oh how I wish I had some of those purple flower bushes! All I have are the feeders and I get so many hummers visiting...and take tons of photos. I love taking photos of hummers, but purple flowers would make such a beautiful background for them.
