Siesta

These long hot afternoons... The temperature is down a bit today, but the humidity is way high and just wearing me down. I've been a pretty darn good sport about it all for weeks and weeks and weeks. I can't promise how much longer that will last :-o.

To top it all off, something's wrong with Marcel :-/. Something urinary, but his ultrasound and urine smear showed only minor crystals, no stones. Bladder stones are almost always a death sentence, so that was a bit of good news...except that leaves us with what really is the problem??? We are treating for stones (just in case they are just starting) and a UTI (only other possibility we can come up with). Any thoughts?

So, while it would be nice to be sitting inside in the AC watching the Olympics and knitting on the Jester sweater, I'm sitting out in the sheep shed, watching. At least I'm in good company. Even if they are all asleep ;-).

The Keebster.

The Hankster. There's a funny Twitter picture of him from earlier today.

Lila. She has developed the funniest tuft of hair smack on the top of her head. You might be able to see it if you biggify. Gives her a bit of a Flintstones look. Would it be mean to take a picture of that? Like maybe if we all promised not to laugh? Too loudly?

Marcel, finally laying down to take a nap with his buds. I'm hoping this is a good sign - as opposed to mostly standing up and hiding away by himself. Poor Marcel :-(. Him leaning on my leg as I rub his ears trying to make him feel a little better is breaking my heart. Such a sweet guy.

Keebs, Sherman and B. Willard. Almost like Neapolitan ice cream. This shot is focused on Willard in the back, with my aperture set to blur out the front.

And vice versa.

Which do you like better?

"She's never going to get my sweater finished at this rate."

Love the little Baby Huey tuft on Lila. Poor Marcel...I know how cranky I get when I have a UTI.

I like the second one best. Our extreme heat left; I am SO thankful!

Sending good thoughts to you and Marcel -- I like the 1st picture better -- Maybe Lila's nickname should be "Pebbles"

Only in the 80s here this week -- nice to be able to open the windows

You mean that Lila will be even cuter? Can we stand it? Oh, poor, sweet Marcel - I just hate it when I don't know what's wrong. I hope it's just a temporary thing and he's back to his 100% sweetie-pie self.

Oh, i hope sweetie-boy Marcel recovers quickly. My fingers.. and toes are crossed for him. The heat has been so intense on the Northern Left Coast too. And i like all your photos no matter who you have blurred.. :)

You are the most wonderful person --- sitting with your sheep while they are napping to make sure that Marcel is ok!! Sitting there scratching their ears!!
They are blessed to have you as their shepherd!

You make me wonder why I don't have any sheep! Cows are just not as adorable.

I hate it when animals don't feel well. it's so hard to know what's wrong because you can't talk to them. I hope the poor guy gets better soon. I'm tired of the heat too. Plus I'm peri-menopausal too. Add another 10 - 15% to the outside temps and you've got my body temp most of the time!

Prayers for strength for you, and for Marcel to return to good health. I hope you get some rest tonight.
I think I like the second photo better because the blurriness in the first one makes it distracting to look at the rest of the picture which is darker wool and not as detailed.

I hope Marcel has a speedy recovery.
I like Keebs in focus best.

Dittos with Alice re your 2 blurred pics. But they are all so nice and peaceful... Love Hank sleeping with his buds. Poor Marcel. Do what you can to keep him drinking. I wonder if he'd like cranberry juice? That's good for fighting UTIs.

We lost our goat, Murphy, to stones a while back. There was nothing we could do. I have no advise. I miss him so. Hope Marcel is OK.
Love the neopolitan ice cream shot.
I too hope for summer to be over. This heat is awful for people and animals alike.
It's time for Fall and Winter.

I hope Marcel is all better..we humans that are prone to stones change our PH just a tad by drinking lemonade..perhaps Marcel would like a frozen lemonade Popsicle:)
